MU bombs Colorado 55-10
MU bombs Colorado 55-10
By MIKE DeARMOND The Kansas City Star BOULDER, Colo. | Missouri’s high-flying offense made only one play in the first quarter that would stick in the memory. Thereafter nearly every other play seemed unforgettable. Beating Colorado 55-10 and for the first time in Boulder since 1997 was one thing. How Missouri did it was something special. Quarterback Chase Daniel, for the third time in 22 starts for the Tigers, threw five touchdown passes. He’s now three times the Missouri record holder for scoring passes in a single game. And this was the second time Daniel had done that this season, the first coming on the road at Mississippi. Daniel started only four of 14 in the first quarter. But he finished 26 of 44 for 422 yards with only one interception. Oh, and Daniel threw deep. All day and into the cool Colorado night. By the start of the fourth quarter, most of the 51,483 who were at Folsom Field at kickoff were long gone. They had been Chased away by Daniel’s aerial bombardment. He threw a 72-yard pass into the arms of nearly-forgotten wideout Will Franklin, who had caught only one pass in the previous two games. In the second quarter alone, Daniel fired a 46-yard TD toss to Jeremy Maclin, a 45-yard pass to Jarred Perry and a 37 completion to Franklin again. At the half, Missouri held a 31-10 lead. |

I'm glad Missouri is on the winning side of the line, but sheesh....run up the score! Others will disagree, but I don't like teams that run up the score. My opinion is that MU should have pulled the 1st stringer offence in the middle of the 3rd.
Not that my opinion counts though. |

Maclin and Coffman create mach-up problems with speed and power that can be exploited over and over in the college game.
