Homer fans are idiots.

I actually saw a Chief fan on another forum say in all seriousness last year that Donnie Edwards is a lock for the HoF.

I, for one, think he would be a great cheap FA signing. Someone to hold the fort until we get a young deep threat.

I agree. We could do much worse than Bowe, Coles, and Bradley

Would be like signing Patrick Surtain, but as a reciever. No Thanks.

Except for the fact that we traded a second round draft choice for Surtain and would be picking Coles up off the scrap heap. Hardly the same thing.

Missing my point. Why bring on a tired old reciever that isn't going to give us half the output he used to have so he can sit and collect a paycheck to be unproductive.

I thought we were trying to break away from the stigma of the "last stop before retirement" that we developed over the last several years.

Signing Coles would be counter-productive to the goals of the team right now in my opinion.

And just because so and so was released by some other team doesn not mean that he should automaitcally warrant a contract or even necessarily a look at by the Chiefs.

Brace yourself, because Pioli will probably try signing more than one grizzled veteran to the Chiefs.

At some point we need to sign some players. We have so many holes, and it isn't possible to fill them all through the draft immediately. Whether it's a rookie QB or Thigpen, we will need options at WR and Coles can still play. Haley's offense is predicated on having WRs that can stretch the field, so I would say a guy like Coles makes a lot of sense for a couple years until we can find a younger option.

If Coles comes cheap, it's not even close to being the same.

Why? He can play. Who do you suggest our potential rookie quarterback throws to? Devard ****ing Darling and Mark ****ing Bradley?

Coles is a good stop gap until we can get a young deep threat in the draft.
