Pete Carroll has reached agreement with the Seahawks on a deal to be their next head coach, multiple NFL sources confirmed early Saturday morning.

Carroll was fully expected to be introduced by the Seahawks as early as Monday, assuming they comply with the Rooney Rule this weekend.

The hangup could be locating a candidate to interview that would put the Seahawks in compliance with the rule, which requires teams to interview a minority candidate for head-coaching hires.

On Friday, Jim Mora became the first Seahawks coach to be let go after one season.

Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier could agree to interview, but he is unwilling to do so if Carroll has been promised full control of the Seahawks -- and multiple sources say he has.

Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke told Frazier that Carroll definitely does not have Seattle's job.

Report: Carroll agrees to coach Seahawks

Pete Carroll leaving USC to coach the Seattle Seahawks appears to be a done deal.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Carroll has agreed on a deal to take the job. According to Schefter, the only hangup is that the Seahawks can't make the hiring official until they comply with the Rooney Rule by interviewing a minority candidate.

Of course, at this point, if the Seahawks do interview a minority candidate solely to comply with the Rooney Rule, they would be making a complete mockery of the Rooney Rule.

Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier has reportedly decided to sit for an interview after being assured that Carroll doesn't have the job yet. Perhaps after reading Schefter's report, Frazier will change his mind.

I don't think Mecca's got to worry much, I'm sure the HC job at USC won't be vacant long. I have a feeling They'll pretty much be able to get any one they wan't. It's to good of a job for USC brass to **** it up.

Eh, not if sanctions are imminent, which could be the reason why Petey is hitting the road.

Thats the lynch pen(?) to this whole thing. It's seems to me they r just as guilty as every one else.
