A CB in the 1st or 2nd?
Stop one second with the gut reaction of "the secondary is fine, Flowers and Carr are good CB's and Arenas is a good nickle back." Maybe, maybe not.
The reason I'm asking is that last year after the Jets lost in the playoffs, Tannenbaum asked Ryan what he thought the team needed the most to continue to be competitive, and Rex said athletic, physical corners. He said to beat the Manning's, Rothlisberger's, Rivers' and Brady's you needed tough physical corners. Even though they had Revis, a decent pass D, and a struggling pass rush they brought in Cromartie and used a 1st round pick on Wilson. Even though Flowers is solid, and Carr has his moments, should KC entertain using an early draft pick on a physical CB? |

Flowers is not "solid", he's one of the best CBs in the league.
Carr is a legit top 10-15 corner at this point as well. If you think we need more CBs, fine, but don't sell short the best part of our team.

I believe that they used a 1st round pick on Wilson because he was the BPA where they were.

What the Jets need more than anything is help at OLB, DT, and NT.
If you can get after the QB, you don't need to cover for 5 seconds.

It doesn't matter how good your coverage is... when you don't get any pressure on the QB, he's going to scan the field and dump the ball off to the RB coming out of the backfield for gains all day. See the Ravens playoff loss.

This is another reason I hate that Arenas pick.
You drafted a corner in the ****ing 2nd last year. If you believe one of the Chiefs' starting corners isn't good enough, Arenas' draft position demands he's competing for that spot. Hence, no ****ing way you should need to draft a corner high this year. If Pioli drafts a corner in the 1st or 2nd round this year it will be proof positive he's a colossal moron.

2/3rds of our 3-4 DL are manned by street trash....and we've drafted something like 90000 CBs safeties and TEs in the last 2 years....
let's not do that anymore..

You'd take a DE in the first?

What I find more interesting is the flawed logic Rex uses.
"to beat the Manning's, Rothlisberger's, Rivers' and Brady's you needed tough physical corners." Wrong. To beat the Manning's, Rothlisberger's, Rivers' and Brady's you need the next Manning, Rothlisberger, Rivers or Brady. Simple as that. No 2nd rounder could come in and take Carr's spot. He's a good CB. |

Peyton Manning, Ben Rothlisberger. Just furthers my opinion that to win a SB, you have to have a franchise, superstar QB. Everybody else is pretty much filler. |
