Zombie Proof House

I didn't see this posted when I did a search....this is an amazing idea. The only problem I have with it is you would have your own power supply because if not, what do the concrete doors run off of when the world ends?

Err, just one question:

How do you get out for food? The only way to roll during zombie apocalypse is an island large enough to grow your own food, but not so large you won't have enough ammo to kill all the zombies that may be on it with you.

What would make the most sense would be to have an underground tunnel that leads to a garage with a secure exit so one could flee if necessary. I would assume some kind of heavy duty or possibly military vehicle would be there.

I also assume there is a root cellar of some type with hopefully enough food to last the inhabitants at least 6 months should the zombie lay siege.

Dont cha know, the tunnel is where the zombies always come from. They always sneak in that back door when you aren't looking.

What keeps the zombies from walking across the ocean/lake floor to the island?

You could put sharks or alligators in the moat.

But then you might end up with zombie sharks or alligators. And that you DO NOT WANT

I'd have a speaker system where I could tease the zombies by yelling out "EAT ME BITCH"

My first thought also. How are you supposed to defend it?
That place is like trying to fight in a basement, and you know what Aldo “the Apache” says about that.

A couple of mini-guns on the roof in strategic locations should do the trick.

Remotely controlled from inside? Yea, that would be pretty trick.
Add a watch/sniper tower tall enough to see for a ways, clear the trees at least 1000 yards back and we’d be onto something here.

Well, it depends on what type of zombies we're dealing with here.

The traditional zombies which are little more than reanimated husks, lack the motor skills to present much of a problem. With flat slick walls, it's unlikely they'd be able to climb so you could actually have those machine gun nests on the roofed be manned. Just have a roof entrance than can be shut and locked in the off chance you end up overrun and need to retreat to the safety of the barracks.

Even with today's modern super zombies, I still think they're going to have a problem climbing up those walls. I'd recommend keeping a supply of napalm handy (just mix gas with dish soap for a quick homemade version) in the event that they do manage to start climbing. Napalm + match = no more zombies. Not to mention that it would be incredibly handly for removing the pile of corpes after the siege is broken. And since the walls are concrete, you don't have to worry about the house catching fire.
