NIU vs Kansas

My Huskies are playing them tomorrow. Any Jayhawk football fans have any insight on the team this year? Last year was a good game, hopefully we don't play like shit again!

Basketball will ALWAYS be #1 at KU. When the football team does well, great, if it doesn't, oh well.

Obviously true, but that doesn't really explain why football is such a distant second (is it even in 2nd place?)

They were playing something with TCU last weekend in the track and field grass... looked kind of like Quidditch and not at all like basketball. It didn't seem like they were all that great at it, and the folks commenting on the game said for some reason they stopped doing what they were good at and started relying on some guy who didn't really seem to know what he was doing.

In conclusion, basketball season will be here before you know it!

KU is better but still bad.

The one thing they have been doing is forcing turnovers. They usually result in missed field goals but they're still happening.

I'm a Army season ticket holder. They played NIU last week, we lost 41-40 off a missed extra point, and put up 480 rushing yds vs them.

Their O is spread-Pistol based. Their QB has a great arm and they run a lot of QB-power runs. They have 2 large TE's that will motion out of the backfield in pistol. He likes them on deep corner routes & near the endzone.

Play to watch out for: 5WR package, with quads to one side. They isolate WR #1 and look to throw the fade if its man or press man/0 blitz. Otherwise he runs flood concept to the quads side vs zone. Absolutely killed us with that 5 times.

Their D is suspect vs the run. Almost 500 on the ground running nothing but triple option, midline, and a quick wingback trap play.

Good luck.

480 yards rushing eh? That means we'll probably throw it our first 30 plays.

Im an NIU fan, but pretty good summary of what we do on offense. I know we let up a lot of yds on defense but look at the time of possession vs Army. NIU only had the ball for 17 min and put up 41 pts, Army had the ball all game and ran a ton of plays which i why the yardage was so high. Plus the triple option is hard to defend when you never see it. Im not too worried about our defense vs traditional offenses . Either way, thanks for the summary. Ill be at the NIU Kansas game tomorrow. Hopefully I run into some chiefs fans!

Time of Possession is Army's only chance at winning. That #1 WR had me worried all day. QB has a good arm too.
