What TV do you have and why?

I have a 2012 Samsung PN60e8000 plasma. Got all the bells and whistles but if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have gotten the one with the motion and voice recognition. Other than that the 600 Hz refresh rate is great and the black levels make this TV fantastic. I am having it calibrated to its true best settings next week.

Have a Sharp Aquos 54" with some leatherette BS trim around the edge so it fits the decor of the living room. Down in the man cave I have a projector setup. Mitsubishi HC1500 throwing on a 106" diagonal fixed screen. If you have the space, and believe me I understand not having the space, a front projector is without equal. And you can get a used one so cheap it is worth it....if you have the space.

Don't have the space right now for a screen that big but when the basement is finished I will.

You don't need a huge room at this point. At my old condo, I had a small english basement that was like 12x14 and I set up a theater in there with a 106" screen and it worked great. The projectors nowadays don't need to be a huge distance from the screen.

When I bought my new house a couple years ago it came with an unfinished basement with 10' ceilings so I went crazy with it.

You don't need a screen, really. You can paint the wall and have it look awesome. A screen is better, but the difference is very, very minimal.
