What are the three most surprising NFL teams through Week 8.5?

"Surprising" can be either positive or negative. I'll post a poll, but that's probably not a surprise.

Pick three. No more, no less. Three.

Carolina.

We could say Oakland, but I expected them to be better this year.

Dolphins.

Colts have been worse than expected.

Could say Chiefs.

Carolina is easily the biggest surprise.

I think how good the Bengals have been, and how the Seahawks have fallen some are the others surprises.

Yeah, Carolina (+) is frankly the reason for this thread. Did anyone see this coming?

I also picked Minnesota (+) and Kansas City (-) as my two other big surprises. I thought KC was going to make noise this year.

My other surprises are Arizona (+), Indianapolis (-), San Diego (-), and Dallas (-)

Expected the Bengals to be good, but certainly not 8-0. Ginger warrior is having a hell of a season.

Giants are a surprise because Eli is less derpy this year and I figured the nearly invisible secondary would of cost them more. The AIDS division helps a lot.

Colts are last because I expected them to be over .500.

The Chiefs had a brutal schedule and Smith sucks, so they aren't a surprise. Carolina yes, but I'd put them at spot 4.

The Falcons starting 6-0 was the biggest shock, but they are returning to earth and slowly getting back to expectations.

The Falcons are one of many teams skating by with a ridiculous cupcake schedule. The parity in the league is so bad this year that several teams are .500 or above without a single quality win.

Yep but even with easy teams I thought they were still soft.

They lost to a shitty team and QB. Exactly who I thought they were.

If I am the owners I am asking for more practice time and cutting a preseason game in the next CBA. The product on the field has been pretty awful this year.

Hell, if I'm the NFLPA, I'm asking for that. I have no idea what they were thinking. They want less practice time to reduce injury, and yet it's only increasing injury. Makes no sense. You're right -- either way, get rid of this dumbshit policy.

I think the biggest surprise is the NY Jets. Sure they have a good defensive team, but they virtually had no QB entering September.

Huge credit to Todd Bowles, who took Fitzpatrick and put them at 5-3 with a top 10 rated scoring offense.

I thought they'd be 3-5 right now. Mike Maccagnan and Todd Bowles have done a fantastic job there so far.
