WR,this isn't even close There are 6-3+ 200lb+ WRs with sub 4.5 speed on every team in the NFL. And quite a few guys even bigger than that. Only a handful of Corners in the whole nfl that big.

Size doesn't necessarily mean athletic. DBs need to be more athletic to cover the taller WRs. I'd say DBs and it's not even close.

I chose DBs. They have to react to the type of person you just described. It is easy to be successful when you know where to go, whereas it's much more difficult to react and "feel" where you should be. Athleticism compensates for the lack of knowledge. DBs win.

Depends on how you define athleticism.
I think WRs are generally taller and heavier. I think CBs are usually faster, quicker, and can jump higher. |

Yeah, its definitely DBs. They are some of the most athletic specimens in the world. Just because you are taller, doesn't make you more athletic even though there are some very tall athletic WRs.

You see thats just it... On average they're not just taller... They're bigger, taller, faster, stronger, jump higher, and are only slightly less agile.

In general I'd say wide receivers. The ability to run full-speed, cut on a route, locate a ball in air and while still sprinting all-out, reach out and catch that ball while keeping control of your body. It's more impressive to me than most of the things a DB does. Personally I felt I was a decent DB back when I played, but would have struggled as a WR.

Without question, DBs. By far.
Some WRs in this league are extremely athletic, but for the most part you can be an excellent route-runner or have good straight-line speed or size/strength to compensate for any athleticism. DBs have to be elite athletes, and that's it. That's the only advantage they need to have. As they say, a WR knows where he's going, but a DB doesn't. They need athleticism and elite anticipation to close the gap. DBs are more athletic. |

E.G. Team shows tendency to use slant-flat concept to the field in 3rd and 6+ out of 2X2. You install coverage beater (e.g. Thumbs) into your gameplan. Player jumps flat due to film breakdown. Announcers make it seem he has "exceptional closing speed and anticipation" when in reality, it might be the only play of the entire game said player remembered a ****ing thing from the last week.

Exactly what traits are the players "elite" at and how does the player fit into what "I" want to accomplish? Edit: How does this parlay into the best use of mine own philosophies and concepts? E.G. If I'm a team that is primarily a 3 step drop/WC concept team, I'd likely value human beings that can get open quickly and hang onto the ball (see everyone who wanted Maclin).
