What did you go to the chiropractor for if this pain started after going there?

It didn't start till after last visit. All other time nothing happened.

Most people need to just workout moderately and stretch. I love inactive people who go to a chiropractor for every ache and pain.

I used to think like you guys until one saved my ass in January.

I religiously stretch in the morning and before bed. Woke up one morning and could barely get out of bed. Worked through it (construction) until I couldn’t get out of bed a few days later.

Went to a lifelong friend and he fixed me within 5 minutes.

It’s the only time I’ve been to a chiropractor in my life. 43 years old.

It worked. I won’t joke about chiropractors ever again.

If you can find one with some integrity they really aren't all that bad. Unfortunately have had a few run ins with the quacks as well.

Referring to themselves as doctors I find a little misleading, I have no issues with somethings they do but spine manipulation especially the neck would worry me.

OK, Hamas lined me out on what's what. I went to a guy in school that did me some good from the standpoint of skeleto-muscular manipulation. But then I hear about some doing weird ass shit like trying to fix blood pressure and allergies, and that is almost certainly quackery.

Hamas (as I understand it, I'm a dumbass) position (that I've adopted after some research because I'm a dumbass) is:

Chiropractors are pretty worthless EXCEPT the osteopathy work they do, which is the manipulation and massage of bones joints and muscles.

It's much more effective to go to a Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.), but there are fewer of them because chiropractic is an easier program. There was a GP at the local clinic that had DO on her nametag so I had to ask her about it. Then I remembered what Hamas had told me. Anyway, she as a DO has to do all the residencies and studies that MDs do but there is an extra step for the Osteopathy stuff. So she explained what it is, to which I replied, "Like Chiropractors?" to which she got an incredible **** you look on her face. So I piped up, "the non-quackery parts of chiropractic?" And she softened substantially.

So there is the story on Chiropractors. They do a little bit of treatment based in science and then sell overpriced shit based in snake oil.

Maybe 5 percent of DOs perform manipulation. Very little of it is evidence based, or the evidence is poor.
