Has anyone ever traveled on Greyhound before?
My job wants me to travel and I was thinking of taking greyhound as I'm not a big fan of flying. How awful is it?

I've done it a couple of times. It's a slow way to travel, especially if there's lots of stops.

Not really? I mean it depends on how comfortable you are sitting for long periods of time. It's not much different than riding in a cramped airplane, it's just the trip takes 24 hours instead of 2.

I fly several times a month but turbulence still scares the piss out of me. I’ve gotten better at dealing with it over the past couple of years and probably a couple hundred flights, but the first bumps still get to me. I’ve found that I just have to keep myself distracted on the plane and block out as much noise as possible, which generally means watching movies on the plane for the entire trip.

I just drop a couple Xannies before I fly.

One time we flew back from Dallas into Des Moines and the airport was under a severe thunderstorm warning. We actually had to fly in between cells and dive into the airport. I would have normally had a heart attack and died. There were people on the plane actually crying. I just smiled and closed my eyes.
