I'm a fan of Peggy Sue Got Married, but I liked it more in spite of Nicolas Cage than because of him. Kathleen Turner carried that movie. (I didn't really dislike Cage in it, but I didn't think he added to it.)

The reason I mention this is that I've read later that Nicolas Cage decided to do a weird voice inflection that Kathleen Turner hated, but he wouldn't change it.

I should go watch that movie again to see if I still like it. It's been ages since I've seen it.

Good movie. Yes, it still holds up. And yes, that was a goofy accent

One of the first movies I saw him where he had a major role was Moonstruck. Moonstruck was HORRIBLE. I saw it in the theater and would have walked out had I not been with somebody else an hour away from home. Cage played a screeching, unhinged lunatic in his typical Cage-ish scenery-chewing style that made it that much worse, and for some reason that made no ****ing sense whatsoever Cher fell in love with him. It was stupid and awful and pointless, and he was the worst part of it, and somehow that vile turd of a movie won best picture. That soured me on Cage for a long time.

I don't think I've ever seen that. Nick Cage was in some great movies back in the day

Yeah...I am not interested in a dramatization of Mike Shanahan, Dan Reeves, and John Elway.

I did not see the Kurt Warner one, despite being a Kurt Warner fan. Their story has been done to death.

I'll set aside the Chiefs because I have an obvious bias, but if I could watch a football biopic, I'd be interested in some era/team that I don't know much about. Maybe something like the 1950s Rams teams that were such prolific scorers, or the Purple People Eaters line in Minnesota. The Rams may have been the first team west of the Mississippi if I remember right, which provides a great backdrop of societal change. Or go back to the really early days to learn about the players who formed some of those really early teams like the Dayton Triangles. Oh, or pick an interesting game like the Sneaker Game or that championship game that was played on a short field indoors in the 1930s.

Yeah, that's what I want. I want a movie about the 1932 NFL championship game. That game had it all: great iconic players, the oddities of a young sport, and an interesting setting during the Depression.
