I have to disagree there, Luck has no weaknesses in general( mobile mother****er) while Manning is a pure pocket passer who never really had that great escapability at the same age.

You draft Luck every time if you're in the same situation as the Colts were 2 years ago. Manning is done in 2 years. Luck wont even be in his prime.

Keeping Manning doesn't mean not drafting Luck. They could have done both. There would have been issues with it, namely all the money tied up in Manning, but supposedly it's what Polian was planning to do until he got canned. Irsay wanted to move on.

Unless you think sitting for a few years could have somehow ruined Luck or that there was absolutely no chance Manning could have gotten them to another Super Bowl, then Irsay's decision to send him packing is definitely open for second guessing.

Every team runs some pick plays. It's a fact of life in today's NFL.

As for the Colts making the same decision again, I would certainly hope they would. People forget that, at the time, Manning couldn't throw the ball more than 10 yards. There was no way the Colts were gonn keep him when the odds were so much against him ever playing again, much less playing this well.

They HAD to make the decision they did.

A big part of Manning's success in Denver is all the talent he has around him.

Remember during his final two seasons (before getting hurt) in Indy, the Colts began getting older in key areas and were barely a playoff team.

Put Manning with the same Colts offense/team that Andrew Luck currently has and he'd do no better than Luck is doing.

Maybe so, but defenses are way more complex today. Defenses blitz a lot more nowadays and disguise their coverages. There's much more for a QB to consider before every snap.
