I'll Take Todd Haley for a hundred, Alex

Ok, I realize that most of you are not going to like this observation, but I'm going to make it anyway: We'd have been better off keeping Todd Haley as our coach than hiring Andy Reid. Yeah, I said it.

This whole franchise lacks.......balls. And not the over/under-inflated kind either. Haley was obviously learning on the job as to how to be a head coach, so he clearly made some mistakes. However, he knew that given the talent that Scooter had provided, the ONLY way for him to be competitive was to roll the dice and take some chances. Clearly, some of said chances were real boners, but the guy had cojones.

Plus, Haley had zero support from his boss who handcuffed him Mr Cassel, and didn't he have Tyler Palko as his backup QB? Those guys weren't pro-caliber QBs, heck they weren't much more than answers to trivia questions.

Haley also wasn't going to put up with pussy-footed players.....period. See DJ and Bowe about that.

Instead we now have Andy Reid who selected Alex "The Accountant" Smith as his "dynamic" QB. BTW, did you hear Smith after the game? Calmly assessed it as "only one game" and "there's a lot of football left" bullshit. And of course Reid took responsibility for the game, but Lord have mercy, what in the world does THAT mean? Is he gonna put himself in timeout?

I wanna see someone with some PASSION. Not some cool, calculating football "genius" who constantly outthinks himself. I wanted to hear "Totally and Completely Unacceptable", not this mealy-mouthed "My Responsibility" crap.

Anyway, like him or not, I claim we'd be MUCH further down the road to the Super Bowl with Todd Friggin' Haley as coach than we are with the ultra-conservative, don't push the ball down the field, Andy Reid. I can sure as hell guarantee you that Haley's choice for a QB wouldn't be some wanna-be accountant type. He'd have some gunslinger out there who shows some friggin' PASSION.

Frankly, I'm tired of all of the conservative mindlessness within this friggin' organization. Next thing you know, we're gonna change our colors to an electric beige.

Gimme a friggin' break....

As usual CP misses the point.

I'm sure classic management 101 is to go to a new team and tell the only good performers on said team that they sucked and that you could get 22 people off the street and do better.

Attitude reflects leadership and Todd Haley is a ****ing narcissistic loser who treated people like shit and never even played football.

He was about as big of a problem as Pioli.

And yet his methods basically boosted Albert, Bowe, and djs career. And now in Pittsburgh, he restored big Ben. For a guy who treats people like shit, he sure gets results. And he sure has an amazing amount of support from outspoken guys like Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, and Keyshawn love the guy.

Really? The Steelers have one of the most explosive offenses in football. He doesn't deserve even a little credit for that?

I hope Bowe is sending Haley a percentage of the signing bonuses that he got from Pioli and Farmer.

The rooneys hired Haley because big Ben was freelancing too much and because of it, he was holding on to the ball too long and getting popped. At his age, the rooneys didn't want to see him taking that many hits. Haleys offense has kept big Ben on his feet and that wasn't easy to do. And because of it, big Ben is operating out of a true offense and he's playing really well.

"Restored" may be too strong a word...

"Extended his career" would be more accurate.

The way Roethlisberger used to play in Arian's offense, he wasn't going to be long for this league.

Haley shortened his drops, sped up the progressions and gave Ben more options to get the ball out of his hands quicker.

Haley is a good damn coach.

Pure speculation. I find it amusing that you think haley is better than arians at ANYTHING.

When did I say that? Big Ben got beat up early in his career. He couldn't continue taking that kind of punishment. Arians may have been good for big Ben early in his career in ways Haley was not. But to save his career, he had to move to an offense that better protected him. Maybe Arians would have done that. But protecting the QB wasn't arians' MO

still isn't. See: Carson Palmer last year.
