I support the organization's decision to bring in a proven game manger for the right price. He's not Rodgers and doesn't get paid like a top QB at 22+ million a year. His contract over its 6 year lifetime with the Chiefs will average just over 14 mil a year (seeing how he was an 8 mil a year QB for us in each of 2013 and 2014). Even if you ignore that he's getting back paid for those 2 years, 17 mil/year is still a good price as by 2017 he will middle of the pack in cost when compared to other QBs.

Look at how much other teams like Chicago and Detroit are paying for train wrecks like Cutler and Stafford for $17/mil year long term in current NFL cap terms... the Chiefs got a very, very fair deal.

Are you insinuating that Alex isn't a trainwreck? My how a couple of recent wins wipes folks memories. Need I remind you that just a few weeks ago Alex was out dueled at home by one of the train wrecks you mentioned in your post?

EVERYONE is a 'trainwreck' part of the time. That's why it's important to have a defense than can pressure quickly. It's what turns Mannings into Leafs. Heck, it's what turns regular season Mannings into playoff Mannings.

But like I've been saying for some time now, Chiefs fans have QB mania, mostly because it's the ONLY thing in the sport left to wear out from tight virgin to weathered wizard's sleeve. Everything that goes wrong from defense collapses to rising parking prices goes straight to Alex. All his worst throws are judged, not against other QB's entire games, but 5 minutes of Sportscenter Top 10.

This isn't Madden. You can't look at power ratings and know everything about how the program will play out. Everyone on the team is expected to wake up every morning striving to get better, THAT INCLUDES the GM being every vigilant for a better QB, or RB, or, or, or. THAT INCLUDES the QBs, the D, the lines, the coaches.

You can't say everything on this team can and will improve, except this one thing. It's a synergy. They all lift each other up and bring each other down.

I don't mind Alex weariness, I don't mind Alex pessimism. But this has metastasized into this stasis where people root for misfortune, downplay every positive development, pump up every opponent we haven't met, belittle every opponent we beat, and flatly state NOTHING can ever happen on the team that's positive until the one magical problem is obliterated.

It's stupid.

If being a Chiefs fan were merely the experience here, no sane person would continue. Fortunately I know;

I'm still hoping the best for the team,
No one there is listening to a word this place says
Players are staying, working, and growing, and aren't going anywhere unless actual superior talent is unearthed by the front office.

No offense, Baby Lee, I enjoy your posts, but I don't need a pep talk or lesson on how to be a fan. I can see for myself which areas of the team need improvement. My posts were in response to one dip shit who continues to do his best to blow smoke up our asses about a specific player.

Yet you never have a cross word for anyone who tantrums with '**** it, lose em all, fire em all, we'll never win anything important no matter what, I'm leaving forever unless this specific personnel move is made, etc. etc.

I'm just explaining MY position, and 'no offense' I don't need the MIDDLE of the SEASON to be the time when every Chiefs fan is only interested in 'when is he gone' and who do we draft, and trade everyone worth anything, and maybe we'll be good with everyone replaced in 2022, because we KNOW next week [and next week, and next week] we're getting slaughtered, so.'

We that have 9 months out the year nonstop, plus the instant the team is mathematically eliminated to mope over that. We almost made it to that point, but they practiced the sin of showing signs of life.

So maybe a week or two of pretending the Chiefs actually compete in the NFL isn't overly solicitous?

Yes, you do. Quit putting the ***** (QB envy/obsession) on the pedestal.

We lose.

A lot.

We could argue over why but, why?...
