What is you favorite thing about ChiefsPlanet? What keeps you coming back?

While I'm waiting for the wildcard polls to close in the Hottest Celebrity Contest, I figured I'd take the time to pose a question to you guys.

I began lurking CP around 2011, I believe. Since then, I've come to love the place. It's certainly the website I visit the most often. So, I've asked myself, why is that? What is it about this place that draws me in so much?

I think one of the major reasons is that the board has helped me cope with being a fan of what, at times, seems to be a cursed franchise. The playoff loss in 2013 was rough on me. I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I'm one of those guys that tied a bit of my self worth to the Chiefs. I used to get so wrapped up in being a fan, that when they were being embarrassed, I was certain that people were looking down on me for being a fan. When they lost that playoff game in 2013, I couldn't talk to anybody outside of this website about it for months. However, that night on CP, other posters, who were sharing the same misery as me, were laughing and making jokes about the game. I found myself laughing at the posts, and it helped to get over it. Through you guys, I've gotten a lot better about letting things like that playoff loss go, and not getting so wound up about the Chiefs.

That's one of the many reasons I love CP, but it's not the main reason. I think the main reason I love this place is the personalities. CP has not shortage of them, and the way they interact with each other is extremely entertaining. Whether it's a Baby Lee/Dane McCloud feud over copyright law, or a cosmo/srvy feud about the mating habits of Africanized honey bees, they're all a spectacle. I find myself having to check every thread, regardless of topic, just to see what it has become.

So, what is it for you? Why do you keep coming back to this awful place? It certainly can't be the Chiefs.

I get all my news here. Seriously. Watching the news is depressing and I can only take so many prescription drug ads.

This is something of note regarding CP.

So, today I walk into a small gun shop, I see a display which is obviously intended to be humorous. I inquire further as to where they've obtained the photo that is the centerpiece of the display and they answer "The Internet". I begin to laugh, as it occurs to me that I know who this person is...it's a poster from CP, who I spoke with a week or so ago in person. This is in a location several hours away from the person and there is no affiliation other than coincidence.

It's a small world, after all.

This has to qualify the person for a planet award.

It has cracked me up every time the mullet man has randomly popped up in memes that seemed to have been on the verge of going viral and/or advertisements (the Jeep ad was really funny), but this one takes the cake...primarily because of the coincidence factor, but also because someone took the time to print that picture of all the pictures on the Internet that they could have found to use for that display. Well, I guess what's funniest is that these people and the people who have commented on the other memes/ads that have randomly come to my attention (it's happened a lot) actually think that this mullet man, Rick Dickulous, is actually a real guy.

That is so awesome that you found that, Iowanian!

Came over from KC Star. I got hooked with the war between KC Johnny and Sportswax. EPIC!

PC is a great well rounded news/info site. If it is worth reading/knowing, it usually shows up here without the fluff.

It is a great resource center with lots of helpful people and ideas on about any topic. Over the years, you all have helped me in car shopping, ideas for what to do with 10 acres, lawnmowers, taxes, fish, golf, names for pets, et al.

Through the years, it is still a nice ride.
