Too early to talk about the Steelers?

Listen, the odds of Miami not getting anally raped by Ben Rapeslisburger is low. There's no way in hell those guys beat Pitt on the road with a backup QB, especially after seeing them shit the bed at home today.

It's pretty much set guys. We're playing the Steelers at home.

This is different secondary than the first time these two teams played. AND Dee Ford hadn't found his rhythm yet.
Totally disagree. It's what Ben does every game. 1 on 1 match ups are coin flips but when Rape is on he'll make enough big plays out of them either through completions or penalties to run away with the game. Our CBs can have exceptional coverage and still lose that battle.

If it's a coin flip then that means we'll come down with turnovers.

For the past 3 seasons, when the Chiefs defense struggles, it's generally due to poor DB play, generally from the hole opposite Peters.

When we get solid play from both outside DB's, this defense is a different unit.

DJ White and Philly Gaines aren't going to be out there like last game. Ben may be a gun slinger, but he's not going to just toss it up to a receiver that's well covered.

Last game, White and Gains couldn't cover anyone. Nelson has also improved since then.

There's a lot of difference between the last time we played.

-Cameron Hayward is on IR
-Hill and Ford didn't figure out their positions yet.
-Our OL was still gelling. Now they're in sync.
-the offense as a whole was struggling. Now they are in their best shape all season.
-Justin Houston will play this game.
-we are at home.

I feel good about this matchup honestly. People bitch about the past but Andy is 3-0 at home with a bye in the playoffs. We'll want revenge and we'll be hyped.

I mean, I understand why people are concerned about Pitt, but sit back and look at what happened that game.

It started early with a blown coverage that left DHB wide the **** open.

He wasn't even covered. Spotted them 7 there.

Then Ware fumbles the ball inside our own 30. Spotted them more points.

Then Smith gets intercepted off a tipped pass inside our own 30 yet again.

Lets not forget about Colquit's shit punt that didn't even make it beyond our own 50....

******************************

The Chiefs spotted them 22 Points in the first quarter via two turnovers on our side of the field and two blown coverages AND a shit punt.

After that, the game came back down to reality a bit.

I just re-watched the highlights from that game.....jesus....

DJ White was absolutely abused. Steven Nelson alone with no safety help over the top?

3 consecutive drives for Pitt starting in KC territory?

Yea, that game was a bit of an anomaly.

Yep. Feel alot better now with Peters/Nelson/Mitchell. All are playing great. And of course Berry/Parker/Sorensen at safety.

Ben & his receivers will make some plays, but I dont see us getting torched down the field like we did the last game. They're gunna have to drive down the field against us and we'll hold them to FGs or turn them over like we've done all year. Ben's a different QB on the road...

Another key of course is Houston playing. Feel like we're gunna get alot more pass rush on Ben this time around, especially with everyone having fresh legs after 2 weeks off.

Getting an early lead too would of course be huge against them.

I'm actually not too awfully afraid of Big Ben breaking off in the asses of the Chiefs, moreso Leveon Bell.

The Chiefs have lived on letting teams run the ball on them and slowing them in the RZ and stopping big long runs from happening. That dude can make big plays in the run and pass game.

I agree, but im still of the opinion that Houston shouldn't supplant Ford over the RT this season. Next season, sure. Give him his spot back since Houston should finally be healthy.

But Ford is absolutely wrecking in that position this season, and when rushed off the left side, he was mostly ineffective.

100% Ford > 90% Houston.

Ford was leading the league in sacks (or close to) before his hammy injury/Houston's return.

In Houston's absence these last two weeks Ford has been a disruptive monster. Houston simply isn't 100% and has disappeared in games since his return. Ford has been a one man wrecking crew.

Marcus Gilbert and Alejandro Villanueva were getting beat by the ****ing Browns. Even Ford got a combined sack last game.
I think these guys will have a tough time stopping Ford/Houston.

But it won't be Ford/Houston.

That's my concern. It's going to be Hali/Houston with Ford in on certain blitz packages and i feel that's going to hamper our pass rush.

Hali/Houston is the best combo for run defense, as Houston is still a beast at sealing the edge and stringing the RB out. Much better than Ford.

But Ford is our best pass rusher right now. Chris Jones might even be #2.

Hali looks better than last season, but he's still just a step too slow to get home.

Ideally, I'd start Houston in Hali's spot, leave Ford over the RT. On obvious passing downs, but both Houston and Ford over the RT with Hali over the left.

Of course that won't happen but...

With very little pass rush even with a Houston playing, if you are the DC how do you scheme to limit Brown and Bell ? Oh and they also have this kid Rogers as well who is every bit as fast and quick as Brown who has been coming on. Just saying.

If I'm Reid, I am in their head for 2wks reminding them how they got their asses handed to them on nat'l TV and now it is "REDEMPTION TIME" because they didn't see the "real Chiefs".

Our pass rush is simply better with Dee Ford over the RT. Dee didn't look nearly as effective play against the LT. Either rush both Ford and Houston off the right side, or swap Houston.

At least for the remainder of this season.
Don't **** with Houston if he's gonna be first Denver game Houston...
