It ain't all Alex' fault. And it's not all Andy's fault. You don't want to hear that but it is true. We won our division with smoke and mirrors.

We had the worst running game and couldn't stop anyone from running on us. We are deficient on both lines and our running backs are below average. Had we made it past the Steelers, our train would have surely stopped in New England.

Only the top echelon of QB's could have overcome those deficiencies.

Truth is, we need help on the lines more than anything, followed by a quality running back. Spencer Ware has as much vision as Mr. Magoo. If somehow a top RB falls to us at 27, it will be tough to pass them up.

I want a QB as much as the next guy and I'm sure we'll get one SOMEWHERE in the draft, but we better address the lines too.

We lost to Pitt because the players didn't execute, on offense or defense. Dropped passes, poor blocking, unable to stop the run, QB missed some opportunities. It was a shitfest out there all around. Alex threw some nice passes that were dropped, but he also missed some open receivers. I'm still smh at Houston covering Brown down the sideline man to man. I hope that was due to confusion and he covered because someone else didn't line up there instead of a call by Sutton. If Sutton called that he must be getting senile.

All of the threads attacking Alex Smith as if he was the main reason for the loss are either not very knowledgable about football, or so blinded by their hate of him that they can't see the rest.

The Chiefs only attempted to run the ball 14 times all game, with 2 of those Alex Smith scrambles.

That's pathetic. The game plan was pathetic.

Houston ended up covering Brown more than that one play. He dropped into coverage quite a few times. Which is a nice matchup for PIT...

I won't absolve Alex and Andy of all blame, but I fundamentally agree. This team isn't anywhere the level they were being pimped as before the season. I'm constantly amazed at how much the oline gets defended. Eric Fisher is a mediocre left tackle and the rest of the line is soft. The entire line reminds me of Jon Asamoah, where the fans performed mental gymnastics to make excuses for the guy while ignoring that he never actually showed improvement. Our RBs are 90% a product of a system where opposing defenses treat the run as an afterthought. The unit collectively couldn't gain 1 tough yard if their lives depended on it.

The defense is an enigma where you can make a legit argument for stud players at every level, but as a group they almost never dominate. It's always a single great player performance that gets the job done while the rest of the D just shares the applause. The pass rush only makes game changing plays on the rarest of occasions, despite sack numbers that would trick someone reading the box score into thinking they were a force. And Sutton is the Andy of defenses. He runs a scheme that will trend positive over the course of a season, but no opponent is truly afraid of.

I get that 10 win seasons are way more fun than 2 win seasons, and for that reason the front office will try to extend this current team as much as possible. But if I'm being honest, there is almost nothing of this team that I would label untouchable if changes were to be made. Give me a few select young players, and nuke the rest from orbit, and I couldn't invent an argument against it.

That is just stupid. And why wasn't Houston pass rushing instead of in coverage? We had no rush at all, and he is one of the best rushers in the game.

Zone defense. Sutton is a buffoon that has been humiliated in our last 2 playoff losses.

Already debunked.

Ware, West and Hill produced MORE rushing yards than Charles, Ware and West produced in 2015.

The decline was in Smith's scrambling.

The run defense wasn't good but it wasn't an issue in going 12-4 or ranking 7th in the league in points allowed.

It wasn't a bad call by Sutton by any means. It was actually a great call but the players didn't execute it.

How about pressure on BR pretty much none.

I'm all for getting the QBTF but the O-Line line needs to be fixed or it would be a wasteacher.

Fisher would get a rookie killed.
