This show is good enough to have it's own thread for weekly discussion.
I tried to append it to a Tesla thread when Tesla -v- Edison was the subject, but it continues to be a Tesla -v- Edison war.

Basically, they liquor up someone who is passionate about some aspect of history, usually a comedian who's a good story teller. Then when they're good and drunk, they record them telling the story. Then they call on actors and other celebs to re-enact the narration exactly, with all the mumbles and stumbles and asides of the drunken storyteller.

There's a good 15-20 pieces on F-or-D from before comedy central picked it up as a series, and then two seasons on comedy central.

I know it's scripted, but getting them drunk ups the ante of you getting the straight scoop on people's opinions

One of my favorite candid moments was Jen Kirkman rambling about Mary Dyer, then getting hilariously passionate and poetic about her gravesite [I won't spoil it, but it brings laughter and tears every time].

There are edits, But I haven't ever seen anything where they were hamming it up artificially.

There's some funny stuff in there. I like the technique of using the comedian's voiceovers in the re-enactments. The show really needs the cussing; it's not as good cleaned up.
