Rivers does not have a history of domestic violence - Hill does. His mistake will always be tagged onto whatever happens in the future.

Could it be that Hill and his girlfriend were not paying attention and the kid got hurt?

Your ability to make assumptions and draw conclusions from the atmosphere are rare skills for a potato.

What if ...

Tyreek's mother actually caused the injury (using the same corrective techniques that taught Tyreek about conflict resolution and anger control)?

What if ...

Tyreek's silence has more to do with unresolved disagreements among his inlaws, Baby Mama, and Tyreek's desire to protect his own mother?

What if ...

The assumption of innocence on Tyreek's part is degraded due to his past plea to take responsibility for the prior fight with Baby Mama?

That's just as possible, right?

I lean toward (some semblance of) guilt based on snapshots I've gotten on here and heard elsewhere from people in KC who are closer to the situation. I absolutely cannot verify those accounts at all and I hope for everyone involved in the situation - especially Crystal and the kid - that they're incorrect.

I don't assume the worst as the outcome anymore though, regardless of whether he's actually guilty or not. The fact that this has carried on for as long as it has without anything from the NFL and the fact that he was a regular participant in OTAs tells you that it's not entirely clear cut. And I take that as a positive as it relates to his future on the team.

In all likelihood, you're right. The longer this goes, the more likely it just blows over.

It probably will blow over. I mean I dont see how the cops or DA will be able to prove any abuse happened unless the kid or Crystal are willing to testify which I think is highly unlikely.

Crystal knows she testifies at the very least no big contract from an NFL team and his NFL career would possibly be over.

Possible? Yes. Just as possible? No. FAX, you are far too intelligent to think all possibilities are uniformly probable.

I’m still hoping this turns out to be an accident of some sort or is more a product of irresponsible parenting rather than intentional injury, but even if that is the case, I don’t see Reek coming out of this unscathed. He’s gonna face a suspension, bare minimum.

Hill played for the Broncos or Raiders? How many of you would keep extending him this benefit?

Nobody would.

I've chosen to look at it like this - I don't care what kind of "character" Chiefs players have. I just want to win a God Damn Super Bowl.

It’d be hard not to since we have no idea what happened or even what allegedly happened.

It’s amazing how anybody can come to any conclusion given how little we actually know.

That's a ****ing trick question.

If he played for those teams of course not, because it's shit-talking ammo. You don't just IGNORE that as a fan. Everyone is a hypocrite regarding teams they love and teams they hate.

I'm just in a 'wait and see' stage. Seeing the kid out of the house isn't a good sign though. At this point you're just hoping for negligence and stupidity rather than anything violent.

This line of thinking is part of the problem with clickbait headlines.

It doesn’t mean anything in terms of guilt. It’s precautionary and makes sense considering the history there. It’s all about the safety of the child, as it should be.

I’m not saying he’s not guilty, just pointing out that the temporary loss of custody doesn’t mean much other than the kids safety is what’s most important while this is being resolved.

It's actually possible not to be an amoral piece of shit. Go over to the Mizzou thread and look at how many people circled the wagons for Tre Williams.

Good question there ...

For one thing, if Tyreek played for those teams, I wouldn't know him as well. That's an important factor, IMO.

I'm certainly not alone, but a lot of people have been fastidious in their research when Tyreek was drafted and extremely attentive to his behavior (both on and off the field) throughout his career with the Chiefs.

Frankly, that's why I don't pay a lot of attention to opposing fans' opinions about him. All they know (for the most part) is what they read on social media. And most of that material is critical if not entirely hate-centric ... as we are all well aware.

On the other hand, people who take the deep dive into Chiefs fandom have a right to believe they possess a better sense of who their players are as persons compared to some random Giants fan's opinion. We track their behavior and personalities ... they don't. That's true for all fans, all players, and all teams, of course.

So the short answer is, I don't actually know. To be fair, I probably wouldn't ... although I personally rarely drag people unless there's humor to be found in the attempt.

But I'd add this caveat; how is that relevant? I know more about some people than others. None of us knows everybody. Crucially, that's why "benefit of the doubt" and "presumption of innocence" is so important in life.

Wrong imaginative narrative.

Imagine one of Rivers' kids broke his arm, went to the ER, and no real concerns came out of it.

Then imagine that same kid went back to the hospital shortly after with injuries that could not possibly be confused or explained away, not even to Adrian Peterson.
