Anybody score a particulary good deal today?

No way I'm leaving the house on Black Friday. But I did do some cyber shopping today. I'm in the AV biz, and my company is gifting me a 75" 4K Panasonic display that we pulled out of a school. It's less than a year old. They didn't want it because "it was broken" and they just bought a replacement. Asked us to haul away the "broken one". It just needs a new power supply. So I should be bringing that home before the playoffs start. I needed to upgrade my home theater receiver. I have had both Yamaha and Denon, and today I snagged a Denon AVR-X3500H unit. It's a 2018 model, usually around a grand. Got it Black Friday on Amazon for $549, 18 months no interest. I've got good quality speakers at home (7.1 surround and sub) all Polk Audio stuff. Replacing a Yamaha 7.1 that's probably six or seven years old now. The new TV is going to be massive in the front of my cozy living room. Wowza!

I don't know if this was a great deal, but I thought it was a good deal for my son to game with on his PS4.

I am pleased with my new toy.

I went with the Titanium. Light weight little guy. I'm gonna learn to weld with it. Watched a bunch of videos on it. I'm excited about it.

Eh I still do it. I shave my head in the shower at night so no hair. And I wear work clothes to work so I don’t have to give a shit about looking decent. I can be ready in 10. Used to be 5 but I’m getting old and love a little slower.

Question. Do you have to subscribe to amazon for a monthly fee for an amazon fire stick to work?

No, the Fire TV stick does not require any kind of subscription. You can use it to access lots of subscription based stuff though. Like Netflix, YoutubeTV, SlingTV, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, etc. That's what most people use them for. You can also use a process called sideloading to manually load other Android .apk apps to access "Less than legal" media from other sources.

No. FireTV does not require any jailbreak or root access. You can load whatever you want on it without doing any of that.

Okay, so I have YoutubeTV, but have a couple of TV's that are to old to be able to download YoutubeTV. Can I plug into the HDMI ports with the fire stick, and have asscess to YoutubeTV?

Yes, that's exactly it. FYI though, YoutubeTV app requires a second generation FireTV/FireTV Stick. It won't work on the first gen models.

How will I know that when I am purchasing one? Is it listed on the packaging it comes in?

Just about all that you buy new will be the second gen at this point. If you're buying it in person, you'll have to check the specs and physical characteristics. If you're buying online, it should mention it in the specs.

Here's a good page on how to identify different versions: http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-ident...that-you-have/

my bladder wakes me up at 5.

Wife and kids were at the mall.. I was home watching the Iowa game and filling out my kids FAFSA (****ing piece of shit-hell on earth) form.

Wifes phone died and kids had to go somewhere. So I headed to the mall to pick up the wife at the Apple store.

I WILL NEVER GO TO THE MALL AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

/end rant. So no-I did not shop or get deals.
