Has anyone ever traveled on Greyhound before?
My job wants me to travel and I was thinking of taking greyhound as I'm not a big fan of flying. How awful is it?

Once, by accident.

I was taking the train from Warrensburg to Chicago, and for some reason the Show-Me Flyer wasn't going to roll into Jeff City on time to make the connecting train, so they had a Greyhound pick us up and take us from Warrensburg to Jeff City so we could meet the train.

That was a miserable hour and a half I will never have back and it seared into my psyche...more shit to unpack in therapy next week.

I fly several times a month but turbulence still scares the piss out of me. I’ve gotten better at dealing with it over the past couple of years and probably a couple hundred flights, but the first bumps still get to me. I’ve found that I just have to keep myself distracted on the plane and block out as much noise as possible, which generally means watching movies on the plane for the entire trip.

I just drop a couple Xannies before I fly.

One time we flew back from Dallas into Des Moines and the airport was under a severe thunderstorm warning. We actually had to fly in between cells and dive into the airport. I would have normally had a heart attack and died. There were people on the plane actually crying. I just smiled and closed my eyes.
