I smoked my last cigarette on the morning of my back surgery in march
and I haven't had one since, still get the urge once in a while.
I went cold turkey, no drugs or patches, and I had smoked for 44 years.
Just keep the faith and don't pick up that cigarette for just a little puff, hang in there and just do it.

ok right on, I'll check it out. I thought you were just bitching about a repost. my apologies.

maybe I'm just not ready to quit, I know I can get past the few days because I went cold turkey both times, my problem is every time I go out to drink with my friends they all smoke and when I drink I really want one. Also taking smoke breaks at work is a nice little escape, so I don't know.........I just dont know

Exactly. Hey, good for you man! Thats the way to do it Cold Turkey! Its all in the mind man. Mind over matter. That saying makes a lot of sense, and speaks high volumes. I am a non-smoker myself. I used to smoke, quit for good about 5 years ago. Loved the fact that I quit, it is one of the best things Ive done in my life.

*Ive got news for you smokers out there, if you want to quit, quit cold turkey. Its the only solution to the problem. Ive tried nicorette gum, patches, they dont help solve the problem. All that is is just another form or way to place nicotine in your body. Thats it! You see folks tobacco is not addictive, it is the nicotine thats addictive. Pure tobacco is not that bad for you, mind you, its not the greatest thing either. Think about this, the cigarettes you smoke that is made, manufactered by these tobacco companies are extremely toxic to your health. Think about all the toxic substances, chemicals found in cigarettes nowadays. You got tar, nicotene, carbon monoxide, youve got chemicals that come from the paper, youve got chemicals that come from the printing(ink) in the cigarette paper, youve got hundreds of chemicals inside the filter, etc. You dont find this in natural tobacco. All these toxins are going inside your system. The nicotene is what makes you want to go to the store to buy cigarettes and smoke more. Think about it? These crooks(the tobacco industry)are purposely placing nicotene inside the cigarettes to get you addicted so you can smoke your whole life. In the meantime, they'll be making money off YOU! Doesnt this open your eyes? They are making profitability at the expense of your own life! Its a crime against humanity.

* IMHO, the pharmaceutical industry knows people have a difficult time quitting smoking. So what do they do? They create these products like nicorette gum, nicotene patch. Do these products provide a solution to the problem? Absolutely not. Neither do they cure it. Instead, they treat the problem, or actually make the problem worse. I'll reiterate, nicotene is what makes you want to smoke again and again. In order for you to quit, you MUST get the nicotene out of your system. The drug companies want you to think that if you take this patch, or, chew this gum it will help solve your problem to quit smoking for good! Truth is, they dont! These guys are liars and like to deceive the public, they are crooks just like the tobacco industry. How can placing nicotene in your body in a different form help you quit smoking? Cant! See the whole concept here? The rich are just scratching each others backs man! My advice to you smokers is quit smoking through your own will. You can do it! Stop contributing to these crooked monopolies who are suckering you and taking advantage of you at the expense of your own life! Please stop! These people are committing crimes against humanity. I hope I've done the best I can to inspire you, or at the very least help make you consciously aware.

Best of luck to you, and good health!

I had a buddy who smoked since he was 17. He was very health conscious and went to Mayo Clinic once a year for a checkup. They convinced him to quit smoking so he did and got fat. He was dead within two years of a heart attack.

So he turned out to be not so health conscious after all. I'd hardly blame that on quitting smoking though.

For me personally, quitting was the best decision I have ever made. It has saved me money(about 13K and counting...not including future medical bills), I smell and feel better, and it has given the mindset that I CAN DO ANYTHING I set my mind to do. You have to have a strong will to do it and stay smoke free. I can't imagine ever smoking again...even just one. I was a pack a day smoker for 9 years. I've been smoke free for almost 11 now.

Just stop being a p*ssy and quit smoking. If you can't beat the urge to light up a cigarette then what can you beat?

I think masturbation has been discussed enough around here that you should be able to figure out the answer to that question all by your lonesome.
