Chiefs blow out playoff team at home with balanced offensive explosion

First game of 2006:
Bengals 23, Chiefs 10
Chiefs fold like a cheap wallet at home against a team they crushed in '05

That REALLY alarmed me. I knew something was really different about the offense in that very first game. Yes, the absence of Roaf and Richardson were big. Yes, Trent was knocked out of the game. But the difference between the last game of '05 and the first game of '06, same field, same opponent, most of the same players was night and day. Turns out that game was a good indicator of what the 2006 Chiefs would become.

Is there a reason you included a picture of our 2003 game against the Bengals?

In Mr. KCJohnny's defense, I will say that the 2006 Chiefs came out flat as hell in that game. I've been saying that I've said that as often as I could say I said it.

Not only that but, when Trent got speared by that thug bungle, the entire team should have cleared the bench and strung him up by his nipples.

Those were clear indications that this team had problems.

The offense is EXACTLY how I figured it would be the second I found out that Herm had been named coach. I have less faith in his ability to build an offense than I did in Vermeil being able to buid a defense.
