Charlie Sanders making the HOF is a fraud

He was a very good player, but no where near in the class of other HOF that have been elected through the normal (non-old timers) process.

In fantasy points, his highest year of production placed him 31st in the league.

One of the questioners just said "You obviously revolutionized the TE positon..." Has anyone EVER heard that said of Charlie Sanders before today?

I don't think the old timers committee serves any useful purpose for players that played after 1970. It just puts in people who don't belong.

The TE has not always been about catching passes. It's subjective. It's like, how would you argue one offensive lineman over another if both were from the 60s or 70s? If you were born in the 70s or later, then you couldn't pretend to because there are no stats to look up. It's subjective.
The thing is, I was an NFL fan back then. I remember hundereds of players from the '70s. Charlie Sanders, yes, I remember him, but not as a dominant player. At all. Jackie Smith, I remember as being a better TE. I remember thinking, "How could such a good TE drop such an easy pass" (answer, he was washed up for three year prior to dropping the big one).

One reporter today said he revolutionized the TE position. Do a Google search on "Charlie Sanders" and "revolutionized". 59 hits. Do the same search for Kellen Winslow and you get 499. Should a player get to the HOF by being 1/10 the influence of another HOFer?

What I think. He's worked in the Lion's organization ever since retiring. He's a good citizen. Good for him. Does that make him a HOFer? I think the Lions launched a huge PR campaign with the Old Timer's committee and got him the nomination. The voters seem to rubber stamp those guys the last few years. It is a travesty and cheapens the whole HOF.

You can't bullshit in the information age.

Sealab is a great barometer for it...if you liked that you will like it. Some great parts...great moments...a few episodes are stinkers...the timing and dialouge are excellent.

Tony Gonzalez - 158 Games, 721 Receptions, 8710 Yards, 61 TDs

Okay, we all know that TG is a first ballot HOFer, but can we honestly say that Gates, Heap, and Crumpler are Hall of Famers? If they have continued success as they are now sure, but if they drop off and still have comparable numbers what then?

Bavaro needs to be a HOFer, and maybe Kyle Brady. I added Brady because he played 184 games, which is amazing.
CAN'T ARGUE ON THAT!
