Chalmers should have been 2nd team.
Cartier Martin 6th man of the year? That seems a little odd. |

Martin came off the bench from Jan. 13 until yesterday when he started for Senior Day. He'll go back to being the sixth man for the Tournaments. |

Couple of things.
1. Rush is NOT a 1st team All Big 12 player. That's fuggin LOL funny right there, IMO 2. Durrant isn't anywhere close to being 1st All Big 12 Defensive Team. He's improved, but his team D and switching are pathetic. 3. Akeem Wright not on the All B12 Defensive Team is is blatant oversight. He draws the toughest matchup every game, and does a damn good job as a stopper.

2. Durant leads the league in blocked shots, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. 3. I very much agree with this. Wright's done a great job all year. Nothing else he does sticks out though, and I'm sure that's where he gets penalized. People don't know his name. Too bad, too, he's a great defensive player and deserves to be on the list. |

2. That's the problem though. He's a shot blocker on D, but not much else. His team Defense is gawdawful. I realize he get's a lot of rebounds, but he's not a defensive stopper. 3. Absolutely agree.

I think Brandon Rush should be second team, not first team, but he should of been on the all defensive team. I think he's one of our better defenders. I'd probably put Russell for defensive player of the year, instead of Chalmers. While Chalmers is a good defender, he's not a great on ball defender, however he is an extremly great defender off the ball.

BTW, what are they doing giving out Big 12 Awards already? Iowa State and Oklahoma State still have one game left to play.

2. These awards award statistics and good teams, so it awards guys like Rush and hurts guys like Wright. Sad reality. |
