FINS STILL SNIFFING AROUND GREEN

Gred Bedard of he Palm Beach Post reports that the Dolphins and the Chiefs are still working toward a trade that would send quarterback Trent Green to Miami. The only sticking point? Green's pay in 2007.

He's due to receive $7.2 million, $7.7 million, and $9.2 million in base salaries over the next three seasons. The Fins want to pay him far less than that. Per Bedard, the two sides are "in the same ballpark."

Under the deal, the Fins would send to Kansas City the second-round pick that Miami received from the Patriots as part of the Wes Welker trade. If the deal goes through, it'll be the third straight year in which a second-round pick was given up by the Dolphins for a quarterback.

The acquisition of Green could mean the end of the road for quarterback Daunte Culpepper in Miami, who was acquired from Minnesota last year for the Dolphins' second-round pick in the 2006 draft.

A 2nd is too much, a 7th is a sandy dirk diggler in the balloon knot.

I'd think a 4th would be about right....maybe a swap of 3rds.

Take what ever..that gives us more cap-space..maybe even a good OT or DT in the draft ....

If we can get a second for Green, there is no reason we can't get a first. If we can get a first, there is no reason why it shouldn't be the first overall pick in the draft. I'm pumped.

It was just reported on 810 they want Green to take the league minimum in salary and give the Chiefs a 7th. They don't have Nick Athan on their staff either so they might just be throwing darts. The 2nd rounder just doesn't make sense, but I dont' have the insight that a premium membership gets you either.

I agree. To get anything is good. He most likely was going to be cut anyway and the Oakland scenerio was one I didn't like.

About the only thing more far-fetched than the idea that ANY team would be willing to give up a 1st-round pick for Green is the idea that ANY team would ask him to work for the league minimum.

The 2nd rd pick rumor all started when Rotoworld misquoted the original article. Its a 7th rd pick.
