TIA

Found a set the other night called The Cars Unlocked,it's a DVD/CD combo of rare live performances spanning 1977 thru 1987.The DVD also has clips from backstage as well as interviews and the like throughout the DVD.

If you were a Cars fan whatsoever I'd say you'd know most of the songs my favs that are included on the DVD are Candy-O,Moving In Stereo and Let The Good Times Roll.

The Band - The Last Waltz.
Pink Floyd the Wall
A Show of Hands-Rush
Roger Waters - In the Flesh (Live)
Eagles - Farewell Tour
Have and can vouch for the above. The Band is hands down the best of the lot.

A few others I love

Down from the Mountain - the tour of the 'O brother Where Art Thou' musicians.

Alison Krauss and Union Station - Live

Dylan - No looking back
Stones - Gimme Shelter - not jut a great concert [just ten seconds of Tina Turner will have you going HOLY SHIT!!] but a masterpiece of documentary making [by the Maysles brothers], including gripping coverage of the murder in the crowd and the Stones' reaction to it afterwards.

Elvis - 1. Aloha from Hawaii
2. 68 Comeback Special

A few new ones to add to the list

Tom Petty-Runnin' Down A Dream,a 4 disc set for only $29 includes a 4 hour documentary by director Peter Bogdonavich which is 4 stars,a reunion concert of Petty is in home state of Florida and a cd music disc of some outtakes and non-recorded material.

The Pretenders-Isle Of View, haven't seen much yet but what I have I love as it's an acoustic set with The Pretenders and a string quartet.

Ozzy Osbourne-Live & Loud,so far so great, looks to be a couple of live shows then edited so that the viewer gets a sampling of the shows during the songs also includes the song Black Sabbath with Ozzy and the rest of the original Sabbath guys.

I'll have to look for that one. Didn't realize it became public.

Elevation Tour was excellent, however, it couldn't even come close to Zoo TV. I have yet to see a concert in person that was as outstanding as Zoo TV.

Genesis Live from Wembly is also a great show as is Queen Live from Wembly.

Did you end up picking that one up? If you are a Gilmour/Floyd fan, "Remember That Night" is pretty damn good.

I have over 250 concert DVD's, I started buying them in 2003. At first 1 or 2 a week until I caught up with what was available. Now I might buy 1 a month if I'm lucky, mostly have to go on Amazon to find anything new. I graduated from high school in the 60's so my tastes are kind of broad, but it's all rock.

AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip Live (German stadium concert, good sound and crowd, better than No Bulls concert)

Audioslave - Live in Cuba (very good quality, stage was setup on the street, two versions - don't get the 14 songs, get the 18 songs plus bonus audio CD)

David Bowie - A Reality Tour Live (recorded in Ireland, he does a lot of the newer stuff but it's good quality, for the older songs get the Serious Moonlight DVD recorded 1984, however sound quality on that one has a lot of echo)

Blue Oyster Cult - A Long Day's Night (recorded at Navy Pier Chicago, good show, good quality)

Cheap Trick - Silver (recorded in their hometown Chicago on 25th Anniversary, outdoors show, good quality)

Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire - Live at the Greek Theater (recorded in L.A. recent tour, they perform separately then together, excellent quality, MOJO HD channel use to show it all the time)

Collective Soul - Home (recorded in their hometown Atlanta with youth symphony, excellent show and sound, I didn't know that much about them before watching, I've now seen over 30 times)

Cars - Unlocked (quality is fair, sound is good, it's a collection from various years, not much else available)

The Cult - Music Without Fear (there is a newer DVD but I haven't seen that one, this is a pretty good show)

Doors (of the 21st Century) - L.A. Woman Live (because of a lawsuit by the drummer they use this name, they have since renamed themselves Riders on the Storm. Excellent Houston concert in a large club with Ian Astbury of the Cult doing a great Jim Morrison)

Def Leppard - In your Face In the Round (late 80's when they were at their peak, has all the videos plus an almost full show recorded in Atlanta and Denver, video quality could be better)

Deep Purple - Come Hell or High Water (last concert before Ritchie Blackmore quit, in fact he walked off during the end, circa 1993 before UK crowd, good show)

ELO - Zoom (recorded in LA. before an invitation only crowd of about 800 fans, good sound and quality, about 2003)

Gabriel, Peter - Growing up Live (better sound than the Secret World DVD, recorded I believe in Paris, setup in the round, good theatrics, very neat)

Guess Who - Running Back Thru Canada (recorded for Canadian TV since they are almost gods there, purchased as an import from Amazon, good show with all the hits)

Guns N Roses - Use your Illusion 1 & 2 (must purchase separately, part 1 is probably best because I love November Rain but part 2 has tremenous ending, recorded in Tokyo early 90's)

INXS Live Baby Live (recorded Wembley Stadium before 80,000 about 1988 with Michael Hutchence, good show, mostly daylight, all the hits except The One Thing)

Tommy James & the Shondels - Live at the Bitter End (recorded about 2003 at a very small club in Greenwich Village, maybe a 100 people, but Tommy sounds great, they do the hits, probably have to find at Amazon)

Evanescence - Everywhere But Home (Live in Paris after first album, crowd loves them, very good sound, very intense show, bonus live CD)

Eagles - Farewell Live from Melbourne (recorded Australia, 2 DVD's, very good sound & show, crowd knows the songs, also do solo songs from Joe Walsh & Don Henley)

Doo Wop - 50 Vol 1 & 2 (recorded Pittsburgh in a theater for the Public TV crowd about 1998, has many of the big acts of the 50's, good sound & show)

Fleetwood Mac - Live from Boston (comes in a CD size case, 2 DVD and a live CD) good show, maybe not as good as the Dance DVD, but if your looking for something newer, this is it)

Journey - Live in Houston 1981 (Escape tour, good sound & Show, doesn't show much of the audience, Steve Perry's voice is perfect)

Journey - 2001 (recorded late 2000 at Las Vegas Civic Center, full house and the crowd is really into the songs, Steve Auggeri is the singer, he does a decent job singing, what impresses is the show is great)

Kansas - Device, Voice, Drum (excellent show before a small crowd in the band's current hometown of Atlanta, only negative is the low lighting makes the film grainy at times)

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Vicious Cycle Tour Live (recorded outdoor pavillion in Nashville, good show & crowd)

Live - Live at the Persidiso (York, PA band recorded last year in an ancient church in Amsterdam before an lively crowd of about 1000 fans)

McCartney, Paul - The Space Within & Back in the U.S. (either DVD is good, both contain a lot of backstage footage between songs)

Moody Blues - A Night at Red Rocks (recorded about 1993, good quality & show)

Queen & Paul Rodgers - Return of the Champions (excellent show with Paul doing a great job, also some Bad Co songs included, excellent crowd at a big civic center in England)

Queen - We Will Rock You (better sound than the Wembley DVD, recorded in Montreal about 1980, Freddie wears the short shorts)

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Live at Slane Castle (recorded before 80,000 outdoors, great show, my favorite of all these DVD's, I've probably seen 40 times)

REO Speedwagon - Live in the Heartland (one of my most recent purchases, recorded in Chicago last year, almost identical show to the 2001 DVD which I also have, this one is probably a little better and I'll probably watch this one from now on)

Page & Plant - Unledded (most of the DVD is recorded in Morocco in a theater, good sound and show but could of been much longer and some songs are recorded at other locations)

Rick Springfield - Live in Rockford (recorded in a theater in Rockford, IL before about 1,000 screaming females about 2005, even though he's bumblegum, he puts on a really rockin show)

Stanley, Paul - One Live Kiss (also purchased recently, not a big Kiss fan but I really like this, he puts on a good club show in Brooklyn, his hometown, does Kiss and solo)

Steppenwolf - Live in Louisville (outdoor show at a fair recorded about 2004, good sound & show, John Kay does all the hits, and he really is Steppenwolf)

Santana - Sacred Fire (recorded in Mexico City before a great crowd late 90's early 2000's, does most of the hits, very good band except without the original singer Greg Rolie he'll never quite have the sound)

Cat Stevens - Majicat (recorded at William & Mary College outdoor about 1978, never released on VHS, great sound & quality, does all the hits except Wild World is a bonus song and is poorer quality)

Boz Scaggs - Greatest Hits Live (excellent sound quality, small club in San Francisco, if you want to show off your stereo play this DVD)

Three Days Grace - Live at the Palace 2008 (out of about 12 songs you'll recognize at least half, good energetic show and crowd, recorded in Detroit)

Three Dog Night - Live at the Renaissance Center (recorded in Nashville about 2003 with an orchestra, I wish they had left off the orchestra because their intros can take forever, but overall very good show, only 2 members Danny & Corey, Chuck Negro is solo)

Toto - 25th Anniversary Live in Amsterdam (great sound, good show, good crowd, I would of liked more of the older material)

U2 - Go Home Slane Castle (very good show, big outdoor crowd which is really into the band)

War - Greatest Hits Live (my last purchase I actually found at Best Buy, recorded a year ago at a club in Anaheim, CA, it's a very good club show, you'll feel like your there, only one original member but Lonnie Jordan was the main singer and he has a good band behind him)

Roger Waters - In the Flesh Live (civic center show, not as much lighting effects as a Pink Floyd show but is very theatrical, guitarist Doyle Bramwell is very good, does a lot of Floyd as well as solo)

The Who - Live at Royal Albert Hall (recorded the tour before John Entwhistle died, good show & crowd, does have a couple of guest singers of which only Eddie Vedder I enjoyed, they do a lot of Tommy)

Whitesnake - In the Heat of the Night (recorded in London about 2005, great show & crowd, deluxe edition has bonus live CD of show)

ZZ Top - Live from Texas (good show & crowd, I saw them on the Eliminator tour of 1983 and they were better at that time as far as theatrics, now they basically just play)

The Waters one is really good.

If you do end up picking one up, Remember That Night is the way to go. Graham Nash and David Crosby join in for a few of the tracks and Bowie shows up at the end.
