Broncos @ Chiefs ... time for craziness!

I figured I would post this since it's "Broncos/Chiefs" week (or Chiefs/Broncos, whichever you prefer) .

I have no grand visions of an easy win for Denver by any stretch of the imagination. Everyone knows that despite the fact that KC has been down lately and not playing well at home, it's a divisional game... and anything can and typically does happen. Somehow, the Chiefs have a knack for giving the opposing QB hell in games at Arrowhead. The Chiefs would love to win this one, they're playing pretty well at times despite the issues. KC had a huge win two weeks ago at home and played poorly this past week.

Denver shook off the 0-4 streak and won soundly at home vs the Giants. The Broncos need a win to keep pace with the Chargers and to put some distance between them and the other wildcard contenders.

It's not a "must win", but it is a "greatly needed" win for the Broncos... stats are stats and if you look at the numbers, Denver should probably win. I'm sure one of my counterparts (yeah that guy) will be along soon to state why Denver should totally dominate this week... I've been through this rodeo before, so I will continue to temper my enthusiasm with a nice dose of reality.

If Denver plays like they did against the Giants... which is how they played for most of the 6-0 stretch, they will win this game. If the defense has a bad start and if the Oline can't protect Orton, then it's going to be a long day.

So, here's to a fun week of cyber kicking each other in the nards...

Broncos 23
Chiefs 20

Agreed sir; gentlemen adversaries it is. Chiefs-Broncos week is taking a back seat to my watching the college bowl assignments this weekend.
If the Hawks go to the Fiesta Bowl I'm going to have a house full of buddies for New Years. That would be good although I usually look forward to getting out of town for a few days that time of year. I get a kick out of walking into a resaurant full of Hawk fans in town for the bowl and giving the wait stand the name "Nile Kinnick". When our table is ready and they announce "Nile Kinnick your table is ready, Nile Kinnick please" everybody claps and cheers. I love Hawkeye Nation.
What bowl do you think we'll get?

I predict injuries to Clady and Marshall, as well as to Charles and Hali for the Chiefs. DJ will come in for 4 1/2 sacks, and Josh McDaniels will swing on Matt Cassel, causing a Haley/McDaniels smackdown that will blow your MINDS.

All I can say is that I hope KC starts turning things around (granted, not by winning this week) ... it's Broncos/Chiefs week and there's no fury. It wasn't so long ago that this place would be en fuego with hot sports opinions about the game this week.

I hope that very soon, all 4 teams in the AFCW get to a point where they're all fighting for 9-10 wins... it's better for the game, the rivalries and everything else.

Well, at least we have all those "useless" teams. It must be frustrating having only two.
