Mark Mangino will not return as Kansas football coach, a source close to the situation told Joe Schad of ESPN Thursday night.
The team is scheduled to be told at a meeting Thursday evening.
Athletic director Lew Perkins launched an investigation into Mangino's treatment of players three weeks ago. The Jayhawks won the first five games of the season before going on a seven-game losing streak. Mangino was 50-48 in eight years -- two wins shy of the school record for a coach.
After going 12-1 in 2007 and winning the Orange Bowl, Mangino was given a raise and a contract extension through 2012.

I would like KU to atleast be decent, makes the games more fun. It wont matter though if mizzous d is crap, they'll make ku look good even if the team sucks

I don't think Kansas has any legit pro prospects outside of Stuckey who is a solid prospect so anyone declaring early from there is just baffling.

Kerry Meier could be a nice prospect though.

Meier's 40 time isn't much better. 4.65 at best.

The only possible decent NFL prospect at KU is Stuckey, and he'll likely be a 2nd/3rd.

Yes but Meier is an athlete where Briscoe is pretty much all about size.

I can't believe KU fans would be pissed about Herm Edwards, his philosphy is exactly what it will take to beat Big 12 south teams.

They wanted Kelly on as QB coach at Kansas before he got hired at Blue Springs.

Dez Briscoe thinks he's Dez Bryant apparently.

It isn't even a good WR year and Briscoe still will be lucky to have his name called by the 5th round.

I just think Meier would have a better chance at making it to the NFL before Briscoe would. Plus lost in all of this is Briscoe is a risk off the field too.
