What is Chiefsplanet's take on marijuana?

This is purely out of curiosity. I'm just wandering what the majority here think about marijuana.

Do you think it's good or bad for adults to smoke it?

Do you think it's harmful in our society?

Do you think it should be illegal?

If you think it should be kept illegal, what are your reasons for that?

What reasons do you think it is currently illegal for?

I'd rather weed remain illegal, but I don't see myself getting too upset if it is legalized.

The amount of liquor I'd have to drink to come down off a teener of coke would be way more expensive than the 20 bag of kine that puts me to sleep.

Neither of which I do anymore. The former because being THAT girl isn't really as much fun as it looks and the latter because I can't afford kine. :P
In my day I knew lots of folks that did blow but never smoked marijuana. At that time, coke was seen as the classy, affluent way to party. Those kind of people didn't want to be associated with "those dirty pot smokers."

I regretfully admit that the only thing classy about the people I did coke with was that it would often be delivered by a guy that ran a stretch limo.

I'm pro legalization, don't think it's bad, and think good people do it.

That being said... it's completely a gateway drug. Legalizing it might cut down on that a bit, because then it wouldn't introduce people to the drug-using subculture, but as it stands, it's definitely a gateway drug.

its only a "gateway" drug because its lower on the chain, so to speak. People who abuse drugs are going to abuse drugs, weed is just the most accessible and most common, so its typically the first (along with alcohol).

But weed, generally, introduces you to the world of illicit drugs. From weed, you find out that there's an entire subculture out there that exists. Also, once you start living in that subculture, your values start to shift because you're immersed in a different culture than mainstream culture, so it's natural to start adapting the subculture's values. Part of those values is often that drugs really aren't that big of a deal and such.

But I do agree that abuse will happen regardless.

Considering the absolute shit show I became last night on a legal substance; I don't see a gatdamn reason why somebody shouldn't be able to smoke a bowl if they want to.

Bingo.

Is it bad:?
Yes but not as bad as many others. Really no worse than tobacco and alchohol which are both legal.

Should it be legalized?
Yes so we can tax it instead of spending billions to keep it out of the country

Is it a gateway drug?
If I believed that I wouldn't have voted for legalization

Do only bad people smoke it?
Mostly harmless

Legalize but only tax it at the same rate as the sales tax on groceries.
