TSN.ca mock draft Monday March 8th

http://www.tsn.ca/nfl/feature/?id=17478

5. Kansas City Chiefs
Eric Berry, S
Tennessee
5-11, 204

Notes: In the second year of the Scott Pioli rebuilding project, the Chiefs decide to add a dangerous playmaker to their defence. Berry may be young but he has the potential to become a top flight safety in the NFL. He has the versatility to play any position in the Chiefs secondary, meaning he could move outside to cover AFC West receivers like Brandon Marshall and Vincent Jackson, or move inside to matchup against against a tight end like Antonio Gates.

the ability of Berry to cover tightends and RB's is a big key for me ... we haven't had that in a long, long time.

He's such a rare talent. Mays is too, but Berry is the pick in this draft. I'm not sure Pioli could walk away from him. I think if he's there, he's ours.

I fully expect Pioli to take Dan Williams or Okung before Berry or Clausen.

I hope I'm wrong but I just can't see Pioli taking Berry.

I absolutely agree, but nothing would surprise me with Peeholi.

I'm expecting the worst, especially after last off-season's transactions and draft.

Chiefs won't be lucky enough to have Okung on the board when they pick, so it really doesn't matter.

Sure, you are one of those Carl Peterson apologists who embraced Peterson for taking only one offensive lineman in the first three rounds of the draft over the past ten years.

Why focus on the offensive line when we can keep drafting defensive ends and tackles?

Carl showed us that you can build a high quality team by ignoring the offensive line, picking up quality guys in the later rounds and via free agency.

I applaud your appreciation of the former regimes conceptualizations as it relates to "properly" building a team.

Go for those playmakers. Ignore the offensive line. That's how you build a winning franchise.

I'm still of the belief that Pioli is waiting to see what/how the collective bargaining thing breaks before he's going to open up the wallet on many people.

that said, i would hope that he is looking for someone like a Berry in the draft.. someone who is a playmaker/stalwart who will play for 10 years at a pro bowl level.

and please don't reach!

If Berry is there and we don't take him, I'll be pissed.
