Wait, I thought Colin Brown and Darryl Harris had been anointed by Dane as the saviors of the offensive line?
WHAT HAPPENED?

They'll suck but Berry will make the difference Mike Brown couldn't. And Shaun Smith might help. A smidge.

I think it's funny that people are bitching that Magee made the team and the same some of the same people SWORE we should have taken Jarron Gilbert instead. Jarron Gilbert got cut today.
Only surprise cuts for me are Harris, and Lokey. I don't think Harris is crazy good or anything, but though he'd have some upside. Probably the knee putting him on PS right now. As for Lokey, just thought they'd keep 3 NT's. Apparently, they're gonna pick up a project somewhere else. As for the guys everyone is bitching about. O'Connell did start turning it on the last 2 games a little, and he his blocking has looked pretty good. More complete and can contribute on ST's, who was gonna knock him off the team? Washington has the upside and pulls triple duty, CB, S, ST. Lawerence has looked really good on ST's this year also. If they can get a young guy to step in and be a ST's leader, maybe they can cut a ST vet free, like McGraw or Copper. Really hope Brown doesn't wind up on the PS. He's looked TERRIBLE the entire preseason. As for the short OL. Niswanger is starting C backup G, imo. Someone goes down, you'll either see him go in, and Wiegmann take the C or Asamoah come in. As for backup LT, if Albert goes down, Richardson hopefully swings over from what I hope is his starting RT position and Callaghan steps in at RT. It's different, but not terrible. I think they are trying to make sure their linemen are versatile. |

Who's surprised Greenwood didn't make it? Did he show ANYTHING besides the willingness to switch sides of the football? Or are you confusing him for the Canadian LB Cory Greenwood who impressed twice in one ST play the other night?

Whatever, I think Pioli has shown he's all business. No allegiance to "his guys". That said, thank god DaJuan Morgan is gone... |

I still wonder what some of you were thinking predraft about that guy that made this board hate the thought of him as our pick so bad.
This defense would be pretty damn good right now with Hali and Orakpo rushing the passer and our secondary ballhawking. Kid could be a DMVP type player. |

I missed that he got cut. I'd love to see him as our #3 this year.

For every Jamaal Charles, there's a Mike Williams, Limas Sweed, Derrick Johnson, Quintin Jammer, Michael Huff, so on and so forth. Everyone here had the fear that Orapko would follow in their footsteps. Season One for him was very good but before we anoint him has a great NFL player, let's give him a few years. |
