The whole "use of Charles" thing is a mystery to me. I thought he'd have more touches in Cleveland and posted comments to that effect after the game. There's something going on behind the scenes on this deal that I don't understand. Still, I can't see a guy who averages 5 yards a touch not getting his opportunities. What I do know is that I won't base my opinions on Nick Wright's vacuous blathering and speculation, though. FAX |

We are going to use charles more and people are going talk about how "right" they were, when it was apart of the plan all along. Don't need to unleash the big dog just yet.

Coaches aren't looking 5 games down the road, they are trying to win today. This isn't a part of some grand strategy.
It's the front office who usually executes "visionary" thinking. That's why most coaches prefer to play vets. It helps them that day.

I sure hope so. These guys certainly tend to fall in love with under-performing players (O'C, Goff, etc.).
We all saw in preseason that TJ was starting and everyone said "Oh, it's just preseason". Now, two weeks into the season, TJ is STILL starting and seeing more touches than Charles. Something's amiss. And I wish Mo Carthon would go **** himself. I hated that hire the day it was announced and STILL hate it. |

well if he can truly be an effective passer now, then yes he can be that good. teams used to have to just worry about his legs while in ATL, because he was horribly inaccurate. There was never a question about his arm strength, the guy has a hand cannon. But now it seems that he's gotten a lot better with his passing, he's still the fastest QB in the league and is a great athlete. I think Reid is reeruned for not starting him over Kolb. If he can run for 6-7 yds or so (maybe more) when things break down, then yes he's a huge threat.

why is Mike Vick the answer you ask?
because of players like Charles and McCluster... do you remember what he did for Dunn? Duckett? Seriously... Charles and Vick tandem would be like THE SUPER VERSION of Vince Young and Chris Johnson... We would break every single season rushing record and it wouldn't be close... Vick/Charles/McCluster and Jones? Holy shit... I mean...our pass would be like a change up to that crazy ass ground attack. Think of the possibilities? If our defense develops into a top tier unit which I think it can... Vick, in my eyes, has three more top tier years...or at least he could...and we could be a Super Bowl contender... I mean...Vick looks every bit as good as he ever did right now...people forget...he WON GAMES...he was a WINNER in the NFL...I think Jim Mora was TERRIBLE for him... They tried to turn him into a pocket passer...it made no sense. Vick was really blossoming with Dan Reeves before his injury...and now he's had a complete reality check...he's fighting for that one last chance... and damn, he looks GOOD this year... and team him with our dynamic backfield... I'm not saying we could beat the Colts...but damn...we'd be a top 3 AFC team I think...or we'd have that potential... and all it takes is a good bounce or two when you're a top team. |
