He doesn't take sacks, he doesn't throw picks, and he doesn't lose fumbles.

Thanks for breaking that down for me. I was failing to see the logic, but now I get it. Cassel sucks. I can't believe Pioli didn't go out and get Manning or Brady in the off season.

You're right. Can't really blame him for the loss, but, can't sing him praises either.

Im sorry, I just think, and Im be honest here, not gonna include the San Fran game, he has thrown 1 TD pass in 3 games. Clearly unacceptable. A 74 QB rating is nothing more than an average quarterback. He's played 1 good game out of 4. Unacceptable. He is not being asked to win us games, but to just keep things simple. The guy has all tools around him to succeed, he has a great running game, good defense & special teams, good coaching, AND, he is not even being asked to go deep, but just to play and keep his game behind the short passing game. But yet he is still underachieving? That spells suck.

I can understand the fans reasoning for being upset w/ him but it really comes down to questioning Chiefs management for misjudgment or lack of proper assessment in his skills. They're paying him what? 60 someodd million? And they're treating him to play like he is some backup? Why go out and get him then? Those are the kind of figures you'd pay to QBs w/ starting material who you'd depend on to win you games and play productively for you and not to play underachieving and like a backup. Its just clearly unacceptable. Why not just stick w/ Brodie Croyle or Thigpen if thats the case?

*Thats the way I see it.

I don't disagree with you, however I don't think he has all the weapons around him. He has a good running game and a good defense, but his WRs are terrible. The only person he can trust to catch a ball is Moeaki. He should have more TD passes than he has. He should have had at least one more last week but Bowe can't catch. The WRs are the problem on the team, not the QB. He put up great numbers in NE when he had weapons at receiver.

The Chiefs could be 10-2 with the best defense in the league on the road against Carolina and I still think the ESPN goons would pick them.

It's nothing new.

Yep, Thigen could do what he is doing and for a lot less. The money waisted at the QB position would get you one of those golden boy receivers. Pioli should have waited one more year before he committed to Cassell. I realy don't see 60 million dollars worth of difference between Cassell and Thigpen. So go draft a stud and be done with it.

i don't think that by blaming cassel, the fans are saying its all his fault. the guy has no arm strength. its like watching captain checkdown and his amazing wobble launcher out there. if he had a sure handed receiver who had some speed to beat defenses deep, do you trust he could get the ball to him accurately and consistently? i lean towards no. i'm not impresses by any aspect of his game, and often reminds me of a squirrel scrambling across the road to avoid a car. its not just the WRs dropping passes, its the QB not having any arm strength or accuracy.

I don't think that there is a single starting QB in this league that is worse than Cassel.

Here's the problem. Too many people are looking at this guy's statistics. Everyone looks at QBs from a fantasy standpoint and Cassel is not going to be a solid fantasy quarterback. But Can the Chiefs win games with him? Absolutely. And anyone who thinks Thigpin could do just as well is either joking or ignorant.

The Chiefs as an organization know what they have to do to win. And Cassel is the guy that they believe can execute that plan. You don't have to have a top 5 fantasy QB to win.

the reason they have to do what they have to do to win, is because of a weak armed, inaccurate QB who can't get the ball downfield. so the routes are shortened, checkdowns become primary receivers... in the mean time your defense is playing at a championship level, and your offense struggles to move the ball. if the qb is replaced, and some talent brought in at receiver, with this defense and run game, the chiefs are a championship football team. not saying you need a manning or breese or brady, but you have to do better then cassel.

He's erratic, jumpy, inaccurate, blind, stupid, and if that weren't enough, he doesn't admit his mistakes. I'm going to bet that if you made a collection of the top 10 most inaccurate passes thrown this season, he would own at least 5 of them.

Any competant QB would have taken what the Colts D gave him in that game and completed some ****ing throws. Nope. Not Cassel.

He's a bottom 5 starting QB in the NFL. Name 5 starters who are worse. You can't. He's 70% of the reason why our offense didn't muster any kind of production in the Colts game.

I'm thinking Lincoln would've had a damn nice night at the theatre if not for that damn John Wilkes Booth.

Cassel :: Chiefs as Booth :: Lincoln -- Headaches and murders every time they're together.

He's just that bad.
