Look, I'm not a member of the Cassel fanclub by any means - but to push this aside as something that doesnt matter is a bit incorrect IMHO.

Did Cassel perform well enough last year to be considered as an alternate? Nope.

So there has been progress.....enough to be considered as an alternate. How many levels higher that is from where he was last year....I'll leave that to the coaches and Pioli.

Jeez - it's not like they offer these "alternate" slots to Jason Campbell or Alex Smith
