Im taking things back...I hope the Chiefs tank the season

Before I said I wanted the Chiefs to be successful this season but now I changed my mind.

I honestly hope they fail. I know I look stupid for saying this, but I really don't give a sh*t. Please bear with me here and I'll give you my explanations as to why I want them to fail this season.

I just simply think now is the right time for them to do that. That is all. I have come to the conclusion and decided that we are not going anywhere with Cassel. Im not placing my hopes in him. **** it. I lost faith. He is not the answer. And I am now jumping on the bandwagon with the rest of the fans out there that we should draft a quarterback in the first round. Luck? possibly? It is wishful thinking at this point but I would never rule it out as a possiblity. You just never know.

But I would love and absolutely love to have Andrew Luck. The guy is a gamer and will be an excellent NFL quarterback imo. But what will it take to get him? Thats the question. Do we have to finish in the bottom 5 in the league? Or, will he go #1 overall? I don't know. I can't see us being the worst team in the league. We have too much talent. But for once, I want this thing to be right for **** sakes. We do this by drafting a QB in the first. **** these journeyman no good projectory quarterbacks. they get you nothing in the end except 9-7 or 10-6 seasons at best. which is exactly what happened last year. Instead, I want the homerun. In fact, I want the grandslam. Im thinking big. Even if it means sacrificing this season to ensure a better longterm future. Im relying on hope brothers and sisters.

I repeat, this team has a lot of talent. In fact, we have an abundance of talent. We have enough talent and good coaching on defense to be a top 10 D. We have a great running game, good young interior Olineman, good Wrs, good TE. The Chiefs are not that far off, believe me. But, we are missing a few big components that could easily make this team a failure and set them back a year or two. One of those is we lack a true legit QB, and a set of bookend OT's. Those are BIG BIG pieces to the puzzle of a championship team.

I think Cassel is going to lose us games this year. Teams will be prepared to shut down the running game and we will be forced to pass. We don't have the QB or OTs to make an effective passing game. I don't expect us to improve in pass offense. Plus, we lost Charlie Weis as OC. I thought he made up for a lot. Big big loss there. One of the brightest minds in the game. And we have one of the worst offensive coaches in Bill Muir running the show. The offense will sputter big time this season. The defense will do its job but will be on the field long enough to wear down in games thanks in large part to the uncomplimentary offense we have. Do that against good teams and you're done. And we are going to play a lot of good teams. So.....the fact, we have a tough schedule, this team could be in for a long, losing season. It seriously wouldn't surprise me? there is nothing I have seen this preseason to say, "yeah this team has it." Nothing like that. They have been a joke. I know, I know its preseason. As most would say, big effing deal. IT IS A BIG DEAL! We should care because its part of preparation. Just the fact that Haley is not concerned about preseason and treating it like scrimmage raises a big red flag. What kind of a ****ing NFL coach does that? honestly. Who has done that this year? Nobody except boneheaded Todd. **** him. If he ****'s this season up because of that, he should be out the door. And that may be worth it? It might not be a bad thing if we could get a REAL coach and quarterback in here.

Haley can easily screw this thing up. He makes a lot of boneheaded/head scratching decisions at times. Lets face it, he had a lot of help last year with Weis. Lets see how good he really is without a bright offensive mind.
I just don't have a good feeling about him at all. He is going to **** us up and run us down to the ground.

Pawn's right. As a fan I at one point thought we'd miss half the season. And that made me ****ing pissed off, especially after last year's leap forward.

Now I gotta wait another season for quality Chiefs football? Eff that. The Chargers are far from division locks, and if we play our cards right, we can win at least two games out of the Steelers, Jets, Packers, Bears, Patriots gauntlet.

I'm pushing my chips in this year. I might get disappointed, but **** it.

100% agree with SNR

Sometimes you have to knuckle up and go all in with a less than optimal hand.

I mean, last season was REALLY a blast until the appendix blew out...I knew we werent gonna go far in the playoffs but **** man...we WON GAMES. Remember the feeling after the Monday night game?

Compare that to 2008-2009...I basically had to do chores on Sundays because I couldnt stand to watch the horrible play of my own team for the most part until maybe the last few games of 09.

Dumb question, but say the Chiefs were the tied for the worst record in the NFL going into Week 17.

Would you want them to lose as they could be better in the long term if they drafted Player A first overall or would you want them to win?

If he gets better in 11 he can be a solid QB. The fact is if our D and running game is good, he should be fine at the position for the next couple of years...

Aside from those simple facts, your logic fails on so many levels. Here is just one example: You want to entrust the same front office that is 'failing' so hard in your eyes to draft and develop a big money QBOTF? Or do you want this year to be so bad that everyone gets fired and we start over AGAIN?

To me that is just plain stupid. I really don't want to start over AGAIN.....Im more than fine with the team's rate of improvement. If you look at 2008 we had the worst team in history (arguably, but I think so). Now, in 2011 after 2 full seasons, we have a glimmer of hope in our hearts again.

Why not ride it out for a bit before jumping off the ship?
Dude, he ****ing sucks, okay? there is no justification for him. No matter how you spin it. You could have a good run D, and good running game which we do have and he still sucks. Sorry, he ****ing sucks. He has the weapons in the passing game yet still....? He is the same old same old...He hasn't progressed at all. He still makes the same mistakes. His field vision is average. That'll never change. His arm is not strong. That'll never change. what else? His mechanics suck and that affects the delivery and timing of a lot of his throws. Same thing like year that has carried over into this year. He panics under pressure which we all know the great QBs never EVER do. but yet Cassel has always done that. And your talking about him potentially improving? Give me a ****ing break. Why not just accept him for what he is?

We could have the good run D and running game, and lets say Cassel becomes average okay, which is what I think he will be AT BEST! what exactly does that get you? you know what that gets you? I'll tell you what that gets you, a 10-6 season and a first round exit in the playoffs.

*Also, I want to add, he played well against sh*tty competition. But when the time came to play good teams he choked. What Im getting at is I know what to expect coming from this team.

He was a perfectly placed throw away from beating the Colts, but Bowe dropped it. He also beat the Chargers.

Cassel isn't as bad as people say he is.

Is he a HOF QB? Probably not. Is he the worst QB in the league? No.

He plays at an average to above average level for the most part.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Your opinion that he sucks and can't improve is fine....But you are wrong...It is not fact, it is an opinion and CAN be spun.

You know what cannot be spun you ****ing imbecile? The fact that you are rooting for your own team to lose. There is no justification for THAT.

Why don't you step off your ****ing high horse before you start lecturing others, take your head out of your ass and get your facts straight about what can and can't be justified.

You ****ing ignoramus.

Croyle played in the second game vs the Chargers. I didn't know until within the past minute or so what statistics Cassel put up vs SD.

What if the Chiefs were 1-14. Tied for last in the NFL. The team that is tied with them wins, do you root for the Chiefs to win or lose if it means they can be better by taking a certain player?

Because I wanted to see the Rams improve their future, not the result of one game, when they had the worst record in the NFL in Week 17 of the 2009 season.
