He deserves a lot of credit. I don't get why coordinating an offense with an all-time great should be held against him.

He's adjusted the entire scheme to fit 2 sets of skill sets. That's what i want out of an HC. Someone who can adjust on the fly.

The only one on that list that even looks reasonable is Kirk Ferentz. But that's just my opinion. Of course, I'd love to have Cowher.

I said it when we were looking at Pioli - give me someone from the Steelers tree. That franchise has won with different coaches, different quarterbacks and different personnel across the board.

They have won games throwing the ball, they've won games lining it up and running it down your throats.

I am not at all interested in watching the Chiefs make another Tom Brady coattail rider wealthy.

And the Steelers cabinet is pretty bare. LeBeau isn't a viable candiate at age 100 and I've read that Bruce Arians has no desire to be a HC.

Kevin Butler is the LB coach, but I can't imagine he's ready for a HC gig.

So I don't know who that leaves.

I'd put money on Fisher/Cowher or someone very similar. It's not going to be an unproven candidate because this might well be the last hire that Pioli is allowed to make. If the next HC fails, it's going to be Pioli who is fired as well.

The parallels between Dayton Moore and Pioli continue to be striking. Both came in with tremendous hype, and then promptly managed to shit the bed. Moore eventually cut bait with his first failed coaching hire, made a few savvy moves, and now the team seems to be dangerously close to being well poised.

Let's hope Pioli can follow the same path.

Lots of folks say that, until you triple their paycheck.

I'm betting Arians would get on board quickly if we offered. That said, I'd be more interested in Butler. If I can't get a QB guru as my HC, I want someone with a defensive mindset.

Defense is about attitude and so is being a head coach, IMO.
