Haley has to play the only guy who knows the system somewhat. Pioli could have given him somebody else months ago ... or last year ... or the year before that ... to run in as quarterback when Cassel finally went down (which we all knew would happen eventually).

This is why Stanzi should get the heads up over Orton if knowing the playbook is reason why Failco is starting. The first pick Palkoh-noz throws this weekend should put Stanzi on the field IMO.

Haley is just in over his head. He plays musical chairs with the OCs, he doesn't know if he wants to call his own plays and lets the OC do it because that's what he's been taught even thought he doesn't wan...WTF this guy is insane. Does he know what he's doing?

Pioli might fire him in order to cover his own ass, of course. But, regardless of what some believe, no other coach is going to get any more out of Cassel. Alternatively, Pioli might offer him an extension, but I doubt that Haley would accept one.

Haley got the shaft coming here. Pioli has done him no favors.

Is Orton worse than Todd Bouman? He started for the Jaguars against the Chiefs last year after being signed during the week.

There is no reason Orton can't play this game. Come Sunday he will have been with the team 10 days.

I'm growing weary of this whole "Is he worse than the other guy who is worse than the guy the other guys have?" stuff.

It's tiresome and silly.

We have a quarterback problem for one reason and one reason only; we have no quality quarterbacks on the team.

Except possibly, for Stanzi, who is a complete unknown, was denied the benefit of an off-season and a training camp, and has never taken a regular season snap in the NFL.

So long as there is a mathematical chance to make the playoffs, they have no choice but to try and eke out a victory. It's really that simple and crying won't make it any better. Not this year.
