Stuff You Could Live Without But Must Have Because Of The Quality
I've been going to do this thread for a few months, so here goes.
What are some things that you know of out there, that you may not need, but are in a class of their own. I'm talking top notch stuff, well above just very good, the best of the best and well worth it, because of the extreme quality. Things you would like, or would make great gifts for the right person. I'm not talking high dollar things like cars, lets say around $300, or less. Perhaps this will help with future gift ideas for people. I'll post two examples: 1. I was trying to hunt down a leather bottle koozie, a cow (hair out) koozie to drink from, out in the man cave. (yeah twisted sense of humor) I looked all over and finally found one, right here in town, after googling the hell out of it. As far as I know, these folks are the only ones out there that make top notch leather koozies. When I found them, I said the hell with the cow hair and invested in a bison bottle koozie. It's bison hide that's lined in Neoprene with a zipper and all handmade. I tested it all summer and I can safely say, this thing keeps my beer colder longer than anything I have ever tried, not even close. On top of that, the way it's made, it will last forever. I had one knocked out for my brother and my Dad as well. They have several different kinds of hides they can use, including things like shark. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MontanaRedS...ion_id=8099603 2. If you, or someone in your family likes top notch candy, I'm talking the best you have ever tried, the Parrot Confectionery is a safe bet. These guys have been around along time, the early 50's to be exact and it looks about the same in there, old school. Whenever I'm in Helena, I have to stop for either a hot fudge, or caramel sunday. I also pick up two quarts of each for my parents and bring them back to town. All their stuff is handmade and or hand dipped. If you like candy, or have to pick out a gift for someone else who does, this is a safe bet. http://www.parrotchocolate.com/ Lets hear it, expain what it is and post a link. |

The taste of fresh juice is fantastic, compared to the crap in a can, or the jugs you get at the store. By the time they add all their junk in there and process it, it tastes nothing like "juice."

I disagree. It still tastes something like juice. If I did a blind taste test I could pick out the items that taste like juice.

Boar's Head Deli is the tits.
Oh, also, sorry PETA, but real leather for my jacket and boots. And sorry EPA, but a full-size American-made RWD muscle car - my '07 Magnum will do. And Ambien. Good night, folks. |

If you did the same test with fresh juice and the juice out a can, I bet you would be able to pick out the fresh as well. On that note, I need to start doing some research on a decent juicer at some point.

One more thing I'll pay up for - decent coffee beans. Every time I try to cut corners I regret it.

Reefs flip flops. Overpriced but haven't had to buy a pair for more than half a decade so far. Smart phone. Quilted toilet paper, soft! Yuengling beer over Bud, Busch, Miller etc.

I agree with this. We have friends that live on a farm in Missouri. They butcher cows and pigs every year. I love having fresh beef and fresh pork. Fresh, farm grown bacon is the best stuff ever!

Speaking of which, I love my Les Paul special. I've had cheap guitars and they don't even compare. I've played a good Strat. They are nice guitars, too.

my Telecaster (American); clear coatd ashe body and maple neck.
and my early early 80's Yamaha acoustic; sounds better than my Martins I've had, and Huss & Dalton. My dad has the same model and nearly the same year (he's had it for 30 years) and he sold his Taylor a few years back because he/we thought the ol' Yammy sounded better. strange, but true. If I could get an American Strat one day, I'd be set for the rest of my life guitar-wise. |

I'm a firm believer in good quality golf balls. I used to just use old hand me downs, and one day at the course I realized I hadn't brought any balls in my case so i was forced to buy some high quality ones from the range and holy shit! They even felt sweeter coming off the end of my irons. Especially chipping from within around 75 yards.
