Kent Babb says Pioli will be here even if we go 4-12

http://www.kansascity.com/2012/09/18...kent-babb.html

Comment From shakatak
Do you think Clark Hunt will ax Pioli if the Chiefs go, say, 4-12 this year or are we stuck with him for awhile?

Kent Babb: shakatak, I think you're stuck with him for a while. The bottom line of this thing is that Pioli makes the Hunt family a lot of money. I mean, a lot. And the Hunts look at this not just from a team loyalty standpoint but also as a company. That's understandable, because it's true. But, man, Pioli knows have to save/make money, and that gives him a cushion. Plus, Clark wants people to hang around for a long time. That doesn't make it right, in this case.

Hali single handedly provided our pass rush...now, he's thrived as a 3-4 OLB, so credit for the switch to pioli...

Bowe...yeah, lots of dumb white people hate him because he flexed once, he is also the only consistent offensive playmaker we've had since trading gonzo, and done it with one piece of shit QB after another

no one acquired in 4 years years has done anything close, with the exception of Berry's rookie season which was truly great...
BUT LOOK AT ALL THE DEPTH!!!!

I mean c'mon, our starting guard is our backup center. Pitoitua, Edgar Jones, Tysyn Hartman! If McCluster goes down we have ANOTHER overdrafted midget target to throw to in Wylie.

Mother of ****, how can he possibly have been this bad? He was given 9 legitimate young starters with plus upside in Charles, Bowe, Albert, Smith, Hali, Carr, Pollard, Babin and DJ, plus some decent established vets in TG and Waters. With all those things taken care of, he has managed to supplement them by adding...NOTHING.

It's not like he started at damn near ground zero - he had a shitload of talent that was already on this roster. And somehow, some way, we're still one pulled hammy from Edgar ****ing Jones as our starting linebacker. We're not deeper, we're not better, we're just different. He's made little more than lateral moves and downgrades despite 4 years of roster machinations.

Jesus tits he's been awful. I don't want to hear a goddamn thing about how he's improved roster depth - he hasn't. All he's done is replace the parts he foolishly cast off.

I hate this worthless sack more and more each day.

How many times have posters on this board stated otherwise, earnestly believing it, because of their disdain for Carl and Herm?

Excellent talent at key positions, and the "Executive of the Decade" turned a legit. opportunity of a lifetime into a ****ing disaster.

He's burned through DJ and Hali's primes and Flowers will start his decline in a year or so (such is the life of undersized corners, look at Law). Charles is probably due for a similar decline soon enough as well.

It's tough to really wrap your mind around how god-awful a job he's done.

But hey, we should totally let him draft a first round QB and give him another 3 years. He's clearly earned it...

Asshole.

What really sucks is that if a new GM comes in....he's basically got 2-3 years before we're replacing people like Hali and Flowers again. What a ****ing waste...

You think there is a chance in hell that this Chiefs team wins 12 of the next 14 games? You need meds.

This team should be on the phone trading away Tamba Hali and whoever else they can think of to stock up on future draft choices. We need ammo for a franchise QB more than we need the 6 or 7 wins in 2012.

Pioli should also be spending his free time locating a legitimate coaching staff. Crennel, et al are not going to get it done. No. Way.

Heard a stat on the radio this morning. Nothing particularly new, since we hear it every year, but...

Something like 183 (approximately, I'm working from memory here--but I'm very close) teams have started the season 0-3, and only 5 (positive of this number) have gone on to make the playoffs.

Yup.

If the next GM builds a champion, it will be with guys like Hali and Flowers likely assuming secondary roles. If he's extremely lucky, Pioli will leave him with 1/2 the young talent that Pioli inherited and Houston and Baldwin will become the next Hali and Bowe. Maybe Jeff Allen will be as good as Wade Smith has been and I'm sure Jalil Brown will be the next Flowers...

Y'know what, I can't even finish this exercise.

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!!!! He's been soooo bad....

Whoever comes in will inherit a situation similar to the one Baalke/Harbaugh took over. It's not all doom and gloom.

He should be spending his free time apologizing to the fans who he's stolen 4 years from and the families of the little old ladies that finally offed themselves after watching this abortion of a team.

Then he should spend whatever free time he has remaining polishing up his resume and offering to fellate Big Daddy Bill.

Demand to start Stanzi in week 4 if/when the Chiefs lose this Sunday. Tank this season properly.

**** that he might win a game or 2. 2008 has taught us we must go 0-16 and Cassel gives us the best chance at that.

I think that Stanzi would be Palko-lite on the field, which is far worse than Cassel.

The latter is rightfully abused because he's supposed to be an answer and asset, whereas Stanzi hasn't shown the skill set necessary to be even a backup.
