A high school student from Columbia, Missouri, was arrested on suspicion of felony property damage after she allegedly changed a classmate's last name in the yearbook to "Masturbate."

17-year-old Kaitlyn Booth's "prank" affected some 720 yearbooks — known the Hickman Cresset — and would have set Hickman High School back over $41,000, but a last-minute decision was made to spend 12 hours placing stickers over the student's name instead.

The victim, Raigan Mastain, told the Columbia Tribune she was "kind of annoyed" at Kaitlyn's actions, but "wasn't that upset."

Raigan and Kaitlyn were both members of the yearbook committee, and got along fine before the incident.

"I was disappointed, but I didn't know her well enough to be personally affected," Raigan said.

Despite Kaitlyn's attempt to humiliate her for reasons yet unknown, Raigan told the Tribune she hoped her classmate's wouldn't be permanently stained by "typical high school" shenanigans.

"What she did wasn't right," she said, "but I don't think it should affect her for the rest of her life."

I graduated from Hickman back in 81. Moved to CoMo during my Jr. Year and couldn't believe that they were the fighting Kewpies. Back to topic I bet the charges will be reduced and she won't have a felony on her record. But yeah, this could have been dealt with without police involvement.
