Baltimore signs David Mims off Chiefs PS
Ravens sign David Mims away from the Chiefs
![]() The KC Chiefs still have members of the practice squad they could re-sign for the offseason. In Baltimore, they got that process started already and the Ravens signed David Mims, who was on the Chiefs practice squad. The Kansas City Chiefs lost offensive tackle David Mims to theBaltimore Ravens this week. According to a report from the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens signed Mims, who was previously on the Chiefs practice squad. Teams will sign many of those practice squad players to reserve-future contracts, which is what's going on around the league now. Reserve-future deals are offseason contracts more or less. He isn't eligible for the playoffs in Baltimore. I don't know why the Chiefs didn't try to re-sign Mims. Wait ... I do know. We have no idea who is running the team right now. That's why! Mims was one of those classic developmental guys that die-hard Chiefs fans who actually pay attention to the practice squad were excited for. He's huge, listed at 6'8 and 335 pounds, which is where we first took notice of him. Branden Albert is on the verge of becoming a free agent this offseason but Mims hasn't played to the point where he was thought of as a replacement. |
