My Father passed away

He died of congestive heart failure today. He had open heart a few months ago, but never could get healthy enough to go home. He was scheduled to be moved to a nursing home near our home today for long term recovery.

My mother was holding his hand while they were doing a routine sonogram of his heart. She said he seemed to just go to sleep, then his heart stopped. At least he didn't go alone. I'm not a religious guy, but he deserves a special place if there is one.

Legally he was my step-father, but in my heart he has always been my dad.
