Married couples at parties are pathetic

So, I was at a party last night and there was a young married couple there. While everyone else was having a great time and mingling, they kept to themselves ALL night and just sat there.

People made efforts of introducing themselves to them and trying to get them to play drinking games but they just sat there.

Why are married couples at parties so lame? Particularly the young married couples. These two were both 24 which is even more pathetic cause they should be living it up but they act like they are 50.
