How do you define the Chiefs Needs? As well as value for those needs in the draft.
I think we have some debate over the Chiefs needs and I would like to get your opinions on those needs. Here are a few needs that I see.
OLB NT WR C RB QB I have heard some people mention G as a need. I don't see G as an immediate need. We have Lilja, Waters and Asamoah. I have also heard RT and LT mentioned as a need and while these positions have struggled, I don't believe much improvement can be found early in the draft over what we currently have. I don't see this position as an immediate need. The concern and intrigue that I have with this draft is the lack of value for our needs at 21. I believe we will have the best value by trading up or down. I really like the idea of trading with the skins at 10 or Vikes at 12, both of whom may be in the market for a QB at 21. Skins could use Locker's mobility and Mallett might fit well throwing deep to Rice off a play fake to AP. The idea of a skill group consisting of Bowe, Julio Jones, McCluster, Moeaki and Charles excites me. I also think that Jones is a huge improvement over our current #2 WR and fits our offense well. But trading down with someone like Cincy, who may also target a QB at 21 could also be beneficial and add value by selecting the best OLB available. I don't like the value of the following positions at 21. OLB NT WR C (unless you believe that Pouncey can learn how to snap the ball) So that leaves RB and QB. And I don't like Ingram at 21. If the Chiefs can't trade out of 21, I really don't know what the best option would be. |
