Yep. They made it so you spend hundreds on evey new set to get all the rares you needed to stay competitive in the standard format. That's why I alway stuck to Vintage (Type I) but they just refused to have tournatments for it (for profit reasons obviously).

Can't believe how much the old Vintage cards go for nowdays. I used to have all that stuff, sold it awhile ago. I lost thousands cause I didn't wait...
