No one really can say, because there was never a fair competition:

Facts:

1. Tebow showed great potential at the end of last season.

2. Orton looked like shit.

3. The Broncos barely let Tebow play any meaningful snaps this preseason, including none with the starters.

4. Tebow played pretty well in those snaps.

The excuse for Orton "winning" the starting job is that he outperformed Tebow in training camp.

I've literally never heard of a legit "open competition" with one of the participants getting garbage for preseason snaps.
