QB prospects I bet the Chiefs are keen on.

Pioli himself said in an interview recently that he likes QBs that he can draft, develop, and trade off for picks.

That explains, first of all, why he drafts QBs exclusively with good size. Undersized QBs command nothing on the market.

He prefers to draft QBs with good size, need some development to improve their worth on the NFL's market, and earn the team a "net gain" for a better draft pick.

Players need good size, need development, and will need to be free later in the draft. Think Ricky Stanzi.

That only really leaves us with five QB prospects, with one sixth one on the bubble:

Brock Osweiler (if he falls to the third)
Kirk Cousins (if he falls to the midrounds)
Nick Foles (if he falls deep into the draft)
Ryan Lindley, San Diego State
BJ Coleman, TN-Chattanooga
Austin Davis, Southern Mississippi (if he falls to the late rounds)

Osweiler seems like a classic Ryan Mallett selection. Pats selected Mallett in the 3rd.

Cousins could fall, a la Ricky Stanzi. Seems like the physically limited but mentally sharp player.

Foles is a mess of a prospect, but the tools are there.

Austin Davis is too small -- 6'2", 210 lbs isn't bad, but it's not what Pioli likes.

Lindley and Coleman, however, are both intriguing Chiefs picks in the 5th-7th rounds.

Both have perfect size for the Chiefs. Lindley plays out of that pro-style system in SDSU. Coleman is a two-year captain out of a small school.

To me, those are the two players you have to keep your eyes on.
