As for the idea that Coughlin previously failed in the NFL, he took an expansion team and had them in the AFC championship game in their 2nd or 3rd year. That team was good for the majority of his time there.

And so was Andy Reid's Eagles. That's the comparison.

The last 2 years he sucked, but the guy was consistently in the hunt every year. Never worked out with a SB, but they were as consistent as you can be every year prior to the last 2.
